That which does not exist cannot newly arise, just as the moon itself is round, but only grows with the days, just as butter does not come from sand. The arising of a pot from clay does not have the fault of not needing a potter, because at the time of the clay, the pot already exists and is revealed, just as a pot in a dark room is revealed by the light of a lamp. There is no fault of seeing that there is a pot in the clay, because even though things exist, they are not perceived by two causes. As it is said in the Sixty Stanzas on Reasoning: "Too far, too near, impaired senses, lack of mind, too small parts, obscured, suppressed, and mixed." Therefore, because there are conditions of two causes, even though they exist, they are not clearly seen. Generally, not seeing because it is too far is like the movement of the sun and moon. Not seeing because it is too near is like being hidden by the eye. Not seeing because the senses are impaired is like a blind person not seeing forms. Not seeing because of lack of mind is like the appearance of the surroundings when one is asleep. Not seeing because it is too small is like tiny particles of flour. Not seeing because it is obscured is like the internal organs of the body. Not seeing because it is suppressed is like the stars during the day. Not seeing because it is mixed is like particles of milk when blood and milk are mixed. From these, here the pot at the time of the clay is also not seen because the fruit is suppressed by the power of the cause. The destruction of things is also because the clear light dissolves into the eon or the chief, so it is not clear, like livestock being put into a house, but it is not the destruction of existence becoming completely non-existent. In short, things are not newly produced from non-existence, nor is there complete destruction of existence, but the nature is constant, only the temporary state changes. Arising from the chief and dissolving into the chief is like the state of a sheep, wool, woolen cloth, cotton cloth, sand, and becoming invisible when it becomes tiny particles, being one taste with the chief and not being visible. The beginning is also the nature of the chief, the finest particle. Although the temporary changes appear clearly, in the end it does not change into something different from the original nature. That is, the twenty-four, such as the senses, objects, and elements, are enjoyed by...
