Being clear without sediment makes it limpid; being cool by dispelling the touch and suffering of heat makes it refreshing; being without turbidity like dirt makes it free from turbidity; being delicious when drunk and entering the throat without effort makes it comfortable; upon entering the body, it does not cause diseases such as bloating of the stomach that conflict with previous water, but always generates comfort, thus not harming the stomach. These eight are the eight qualities of human water. The eight qualities of divine water are: As it says in that (sutra): "Clear, cool, light, and delicious, soft, warm, bright, and comfortable, these are the immaculate waters of the gods, considered to be the eight desirable qualities." Therefore, (divine water) is clear without surface or bottom and without turbidity, so it is limpid; dispelling the suffering of heat, so it is cool; eight times lighter than human water; tasting sweet, delicious like honey, so it is delicious; soft to the touch; transforming into a warm state when cold; the colors of blue, yellow, red, and white are distinct, each distinct as if dyed with colors; upon entering the body, it generates supremely excellent comfort. It is difficult for those without magical powers to travel to that place. That lake is covered by lotus stems (growing) as thick as plow shafts and petals as wide as cowhides, with blooming flowers. Various water birds play on it, uttering very melodious sounds. On the side of that snow mountain, there is a golden bird-perched rock, where there are caves for five hundred Arhats, surrounded by five hundred attendants. There, the very steadfast elephant of the lord of the gods, along with five hundred elephant attendants, reside in the form of gods and enjoy (pleasures). The four rivers flowing from the four directions of the great Lake Anavatapta (Ma Dros Pa, 无热恼池): Ganga, Sindhu, Pakshu, and Sita, after circling Lake Anavatapta seven times, together with five hundred tributaries, naturally flow into the oceans of the four directions. On the shore of the lake, water flows from the mouths of rocks of various shapes. The Ganga, flowing from the mouth of an elephant on the east side, after circling Anavatapta seven times, flows into the Eastern Sea together with five hundred tributaries. The Sindhu, flowing from the mouth of a bull on the south side, likewise flows into the Southern Sea. The Pakshu, flowing from the mouth of a horse on the west side, also as before

It flows into the northern sea. The Sita River, flowing from the mouth of the lion in the north, continues to flow into the northern sea. Some scriptures say: The great river Lohita flows from the mouth of the horse king in the east, carrying silver sand, circling Lake Anavatapta seven times, and flowing into the eastern sea. The Ganges River flows from the mouth of the elephant king in the south, carrying golden sand, and flows into the sea as before. The Indus River flows from the mouth of the peacock in the west, carrying various precious sands, and flows into the sea as before. The Pakshu River flows from the mouth of the lion in the north, carrying diamond sand, and flows into the sea as before. Both of these statements are recorded in the scriptures, so there is no contradiction in either case. The meaning of flowing around is that after flowing out of Lake Anavatapta, it flows far in four directions, and then curves to the right of the lake, like this, until it reaches the respective seas of the east, etc., seven bends occur, which is described in poetry. The five hundred tributaries surrounding it refer to the rivers of five hundred large and different regions each flowing into it, and then mixing and flowing together, becoming stronger due to the confluence of tributaries, but not obviously. The essence of the sea is one, but Jambudvipa has four different directions, so according to the direction of the water flow, they are called the Eastern Sea, the Southern Sea, the Western Sea, and the Northern Sea. On the shore of Lake Anavatapta, there are Jambu-prksha trees. The fruits of the tree fall into the lake and turn into gold, Equivalent to gold melted sixteen times. It is named after the Jambu tree. On the right bank of that lake, there is a Jambu-tri tree, tall and wide, with sweet and delicious fruits, which, when ripe, fall into the lake, and due to the power of the water and the fruit of the Jambu tree, turn into the gold of the Jambu River, like the molten gold after melting other gold sixteen times, with splendor, color, and light. To the north of that lake, there is a very tall Shala tree, with nests of four kinds of Garudas at the top. In this way, this Jambudvipa, decorated with perfect arrangements, from the first kalpa, with immeasurable lifespans, to the time when it was called a human being, enjoyed happiness and spent a long time.
