Since uncertainty can lead to major illnesses again, here, without reversing the order, any sentient being is gradually led from bottom to top, starting from the point where skillful means and wisdom are combined, the essence of the two accumulations of merit and wisdom, that is, emptiness and compassion, are related. This path is entered from the gradual vehicle, so it is extremely profound. As it is said in the "Precious Garland of the Middle Way": "Emptiness and compassion are the heart, the practice of Bodhi is only for a few." And as it is said in "Wisdom Play": "The lord of emptiness and compassion is the auspicious and perfect supreme path. If yogis diligently practice, they will achieve supreme and common siddhis." Why is this so? Because through the two accumulations of merit and wisdom, the defilements that obscure the three bodies of Dharmakaya, Sambhogakaya, and Nirmanakaya are removed, thereby manifesting the Dharmakaya and Rupakaya. Through the skillful means of great compassion, one returns from the peace of the Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas to benefit sentient beings. By meditating on the wisdom of emptiness, one is liberated from existence. As it is said in the "Ornament of Clear Realization": "Wisdom does not abide in existence, compassion does not abide in peace." Thus. Therefore, this path itself has the necessity of increasing merit, not being afraid of profound teachings such as inherent non-origination, having no errors or deviations, and obtaining the integration of view, meditation, and action. Therefore, gradual guidance is also as stated in the "Treasury of Precious Qualities": "For example, when a baby is first born, he first learns milk and so on gradually, and later hard rice and so on, although he eats a lot, he also increases strength. Likewise, my sons and daughters, the three of Vinaya, Sutra, and Abhidhamma, after the order, this oral instruction, teaching will surely achieve unsurpassed enlightenment." And as it is said in the "Nirvana Sutra": "Like the moon moving in the sky, it gradually increases from the first to the fifteenth. Likewise, the disciples who rely on virtuous spiritual friends, their path and the virtuous dharmas of merit also gradually increase." And as it is said in the "Earth Store Sutra": "Among the three vehicles, those who desire the supreme vehicle, who are proficient in the teachings of the three vehicles, should rejoice and joyfully proclaim it widely to others, and will surely become Buddhas, without any doubt. Today, I am teaching all the retinues here, whoever wants to quickly attain unsurpassed Bodhi, should practice the path of the ten virtuous deeds."

Make effort! I will be very careful to protect and not slander the Dharma. As it is said in the Extensive Play of Emanation: Possessing great compassion, one should be skilled in all paths of liberation. Possessing supreme wisdom, one should combine with the vessels of sentient beings, and separately teach the meaning of the high and low vehicles accordingly. As it is said in the Compendium of Intentions: The conduct of skillful means in accordance is immeasurable; one practices that much for the benefit of beings. As it is said in the Tantra of Taking the Essence: The method of purifying one's own mindstream through preliminaries, contemplating the difficulty of finding this support, and the faults of impermanent samsara, purifying sins, taking refuge, vows, etc. Having completed these, one should properly enter the stages of the Hearers and so forth, and having become endowed with compassion and wisdom, one should enter the true definitive meaning here. By this, great benefit will be accomplished. As it is said in the Two Examinations: First, one should give alms and offerings, then the ten objects of training themselves. Similarly, one should also explain the Vaibhashikas, and having taught the Sutra Pitaka and so forth, then the Hevajra itself. And so forth. The fault of not knowing the order of entering gradually is: If it is not explained in that way, the faults are immeasurable. Because of being without the order of above and below, earlier and later, the general system of the teachings is disrupted, and those of small intellect become frightened and abandon it, not knowing the order, they do not deeply understand, they despise conditioned virtues, it becomes the cause of exaggeration and denigration, the cause and effect are confused, they do not know what to accept and reject, they are confused about the meaning of what is to be known, they abandon the great vehicle's mind of enlightenment and compassion. In any case, when a beginner enters the path in this way, ignorant people, without first learning gradually from the bottom up, teach the definitive meaning all at once from the beginning, the fault is very great and many problems arise. From the very beginning, there is the fault of deviating from the general system of the Buddha's teachings. Those of small intellect become frightened and abandon the lama and the Dharma. There is the fault of not understanding the definitive meaning. Even if they understand, there is the fault of not deeply comprehending it. There is the fault of despising the virtues of the two accumulations with signs. There is the fault of those of low intellect making false accusations. There is the fault of being confused about the object of knowledge. There is the fault of confusing the acceptance and rejection of virtue and sin. The conduct of a Bodhisattva.
