This arises from that. It is the root of all supreme and pure intentions. All teachings on generating the mind of enlightenment also arise from that. All the light of dharanis and fearlessness is also shown by that. All the treasures of the gates of purity are completely grasped by that. All the light of wisdom is generated by that. All special aspirations are in its hands. Furthermore, it is said in the Bodhisattva Pitaka: In order to take the essence from a body without essence, one should please the lama, and even if one has nothing, one should offer a jar full of water. In this way, immeasurable roots of virtue will also increase. If one practices according to the lama's instructions, one will also obtain the four dharmas that make one noble. One will also obtain the four abandonments. One will also obtain the four dharmas that cannot be destroyed by others. One will also obtain the four invisible dharmas. One will also obtain the five immeasurable dharmas. Furthermore, like medicinal herbs that rely on the snow mountain, all roots of virtue will also increase. Just as the great ocean becomes a container of water, one will also become a container of all qualities. Just as the great ocean becomes a source of jewels, one will also become a source of all qualities. Just as gold is completely refined by the heat of fire, the mind of enlightenment will also be completely refined. Just as Mount Sumeru rises prominently from the ocean, one will also rise above all worlds. Just as water does not cling to a lotus, one will not be stained by the dharmas of the world. Just as the light of the sun and moon shines on the four continents, one will also appear in the realm of dharma. And so on, it is extensively taught. Thus, merely remembering the lama who possesses supreme qualities, and meditating slightly in yoga, one will also obtain immeasurable merit. As it is said in the Wish-Fulfilling Jewel Tantra: Whoever considers the lama as the god of desire, and meditates on him on the crown of his head, merely placing thousands of mandalas of buddhas in the palm of his hand and circumambulating the three thousand worlds, and dissolving them into his heart hundreds and thousands of times, cannot prevent hundreds of thousands of disasters and rain. Therefore, one should always remember, and consider the glorious lama as the ornament of the wheel on the crown of one's head. So it is. With the body towards the lama

Such as circumambulation, verbal offerings and praises, mental offerings and reverence, and also when the Lama sends a messenger to another place to perfectly accomplish a task, serving and attending, handling affairs, even manufacturing and lifting, all things done according to the Lama's instructions, all wishes will be fulfilled in this life, and in the next life, one will be born in pure lands such as Sukhavati and Abhirati, adorned with Nirmāṇakāya, this is the temporary benefit. Ultimately, one will attain complete and perfect enlightenment. In the Gyü of the Ocean of Wisdom it says: Whoever does the Lama's work, whoever is a fortunate one with wisdom, for all the Buddhas of the three times, for six million kalpas, prostrating to them is not as meaningful as this. If one acts according to the Lama's instructions, all wishes will be fulfilled, and immeasurable merit will be obtained. Whoever pleases the Lama with their own wealth and possessions, this person will be liberated from the three realms of samsara, and will be released into a Nirmāṇakāya realm, and will go to the place of Nirvana. Thus it is said. Fourth, one should also rely on the unsurpassed protector, because there is no better refuge than the holy one of refuge to protect from the dangers and obstacles of the lower realms. Even the Buddha relied on a Lama, and in order to be free from the fear of the lower realms, one should always rely on one. When wandering in samsara for a long time, because one lacks the eye of discernment and is confused about the law of cause and effect, one desires happiness but engages in the causes of suffering. As it says in the Bodhicaryāvatāra: Although wishing for happiness, due to ignorance, one destroys happiness like an enemy. Although wishing to abandon suffering, due to ignorance, one runs towards suffering. In this way, one is involuntarily moved by the irresistible force of karma, tormented by the three lower realms and all the miseries of existence. Even if one attains the heavens, one will be threatened by the fear of many unwanted things occurring due to obstacles. From the long and terrible fear of eternal poverty and suffering, from which no one else can save one, one should also rely on the Lama, the virtuous friend, to protect one. As it says in the Māyājāla Tantra: Samsara
