This is the basis of many things. The six ways of making a living are: farming, trading, animal husbandry, living by begging, writing and storytelling, calculation, and other craft skills. The six comprehensive protections include: elephant herds, horse herds, chariot fleets, small troops, wealth, and friendship, thereby guarding one's own territory. The seven sufferings are: birth, aging, sickness, death, encountering the unpleasant, separation from the loved, and not getting what one wants. The seven kinds of arrogance are: arrogance, great arrogance, arrogance exceeding arrogance, the arrogance of thinking "I am," manifest arrogance, slight arrogance, and wrong arrogance. The seven kinds of haughtiness are: haughtiness due to being free from illness, haughtiness due to youth, haughtiness due to being alive, haughtiness due to lineage, haughtiness due to appearance, haughtiness due to power, and haughtiness due to learning. The four kinds of terms are: hearing, distinguishing, seeing, and completely understanding. The term of hearing refers to hearing from others and, based on that, stating it to others. The term of distinguishing refers to not having seen or heard it personally, but only thinking and carefully examining it oneself, and based on that, stating it to others. The term of seeing refers to having seen it with one's own eyes and, based on that, stating it to others. The term of completely understanding refers to each person personally sensing, comprehending, touching, and experiencing it, and based on that, stating it to others. The basis of many terms includes: the basis of definite words, the basis of expansion, and the basis of concise meaning. It can also be said that there are many kinds, such as the ten dharma realms. What are they? They are the meaning of beings related to the sequence, the meaning of experiencing the object, the meaning of clinging to the sign of the object, the meaning of manifestly creating the object, the meaning of those dharmas in different times, the meaning of the unobstructed aspect, the meaning of being separated from impermanence, the meaning of not being separated from impermanence, and permanence.
