For me, because the very encounter is refuted as just explained; there is no difference between what is separated and what is not separated; and because what is being separated other than that is not perceived; there is no separation in oneself alone, and there is no separation in others either, because the entities are different. Refuting "other" has two aspects: generally refuting self-nature as other, and specifically refuting it in terms of convention. The first is that things that are not simultaneous cannot be other, because when one arises, the other does not exist, so it can never be established as a different other. The latter is that it is also unreasonable to establish the former as an object of memory when the latter is established, because the appearance of memory is fabricated, so the former cannot truly become other. As it says in the Four Hundred: "Memory is called the past, it arises as a reversal of meaning." Things that are simultaneous cannot be other, because dependence does not establish self-nature. One thing itself cannot be established as other, because two things have not been established. For each individual thing, other does not arise. It is impossible for these things to become other by depending on each other, because dependence has been refuted by the analysis of particles and time. The second is that if there is a quality of "other" without dependence, then it would follow that the companion of a barren woman also exists, so it is also unreasonable in terms of convention. There is no "non-other", because the basis of dependence, "other" itself, has not been established, and things that are different from oneself are not "non-other", like a pillar and a pot. Oneself is also not "non-other", because if there is no other in oneself alone, then what is established as "non-other"? If it is thought that even if the pot is established alone in its own entity, it is "non-other" in dependence on pillars and other things, then in that case, it will also become "other" in dependence on it, so it would follow that it has contradictory qualities. These are merely imputed and do not exist in reality. As it says in the Root Wisdom: "Otherness is not in other, nor is it in non-other. If otherness is not, how can other be?" The sound of the quality of space is also unreasonable, because when a person utters Oṃ (藏文:ༀ,梵文天城体:ओम्,梵文罗马拟音:oṃ,汉语字面意思:嗡), what is heard is clearly the sound of the person, how can it be the sound of space? If it is said that it is because the person utters it, then it would also become that the pot also arises from space, and because space itself has not been established, its sound is impossible, and permanent phenomena have two aspects: speaking and not speaking.

Because there is no such thing, if there were sound in the sky, it should always be heard. When reciting Om (Tibetan: ༀ, Sanskrit Devanagari: ॐ, Sanskrit Roman transliteration: oṃ, literal Chinese meaning: 唵), all sounds such as conch shells should always be heard simultaneously, because there is no difference in eliminating the obstructing wind. If so, then the sound arising from the tongue and palate is also unreasonable, if someone were to say that. That is because it is established by appearing truly from conditions, and merely appearing as an illusion is due to dependence and relation. As it says in the Two Truths: 'As it appears, so is its nature, no analysis should be made of this.' Therefore, it is said in the scriptures that sound and other things are not established. Refuting action: It has already been refuted that the transformation of permanence and impermanence is not allowed. For example, if Deva goes from east to west, is it the permanent that goes or the impermanent that goes? The permanent cannot go, because it cannot move even a little. If it could move, then because of moving, the permanent would be destroyed. The impermanent also cannot go, because when it intends to go, it has already arisen and ceased, so it has no ability to move to another place. Continuity cannot be permanent, because there is no contact between moments, so continuity is not established. The Root Wisdom says: 'If the aggregates are revolving, if they are permanent, they will not revolve; if they are not permanent, they will not revolve. What has already gone will not go again, and what has not gone will not go. Apart from what has gone and what has not gone, it is impossible to know walking.' Therefore, what has already gone will not go again, because it has ceased. What has not gone will not go, because it is in the future. Between these two, the present step that is being taken, its previous part has passed, and its later part has not yet arisen, therefore the present is not established, so there is no going. For something that does not go, appearing to go is an illusion. For this reason, know that birth, abiding, and cessation are all non-existent, but appear. The Magical Illusion Secret Essence says: 'Ema, wondrous and amazing Dharma! The secret of all the fully enlightened Buddhas! From no birth, all things arise, at the very moment of arising, there is no birth. Ema, wondrous and amazing Dharma! The secret of all the fully enlightened Buddhas! In no abiding, all things abide, at the very moment of abiding, there is no abiding. Ema, wondrous and amazing Dharma! The secret of all the fully enlightened Buddhas! From no going and coming, going and coming arise, at the very moment of going and coming, there is no going and coming.' Like this, with scripture and reason, the illusion is proven to be a baseless, empty image.
