Because consciousness changes and performs the function of qualities, I wish that the self will not be destroyed or become non-existent. Time pervades all states of past, future, and present, and is unborn, permanent, and existent as a substance. Atoms are the subtle particles of earth, water, fire, and wind, possessing from four (smell, taste, form, touch) to one quality respectively. These subtle particles are permanent and gather together without touching each other to begin activity. Ultimately, even if all things are burned by fire or shattered by a hammer, only the atoms can be scattered, but they cannot be destroyed. When the world is destroyed, the atoms will remain scattered in the sky. At the time of creation, the Lord gathers together those of the same kind, thus producing substances with limbs, such as the body. Direction pervades all parts such as the east, and is unborn, permanent, inactive, and existent as a substance. Space has five qualities: pervasiveness, permanence, providing space, producing sound, and being a substance. The first three of these are accepted by most. Impermanent are the four constituents of earth, water, fire, and wind, making a total of nine. Qualities are twenty-four: number, quantity, conjunction, disjunction, otherness, and non-otherness, which are six, and thirteen that appear to the self: eye-consciousness, ear-consciousness, nose-consciousness, tongue-consciousness, body-consciousness, pleasure, pain, desire, hatred, non-dharma, dharma, effort, and the force of action. The five objects are: form is the quality of fire, sound is the quality of space, smell is the quality of earth, taste is the quality of water, and touch is the quality of wind. Sound always exists in space, but it is not heard because it is covered by moist air. When a person utters Om (藏文:ༀ,梵文天城体:ओम्,梵文罗马拟音:oṃ,汉语字面意思:嗡), that air is dispelled and it is heard, and when it is stopped, it disappears into the air and is not heard. Action is fivefold: stretching, contracting, lifting, placing, and walking. There are two universals: pervasive universal and limited universal. The pervasive universal is pervasive because it is the very existence that is present in all knowable things. The second is divided into intermediate universal and small universal. The first is like the word "pot" pervading all pots. The second is like the word "body" pervading all limbs.

It is like being universally included. These general categories also possess three characteristics: universality, eternality, and uniqueness. For example, a pot universally includes its various categories, such as gold pots and clay pots, etc. Because wherever there is a gold pot, etc., there must be a pot. Eternality is because these distinct categories exist from their establishment until their disappearance. Being universal and eternal, it is therefore also established as unique. Regarding this, the Vaibhashika's student, Bailuka, believes that the general category exists even in the space where it is not manifest. They say that Ishvara has a body, and the general category exists in the space where it is not manifest because it is universal and eternal. However, the rational teacher, Vaithar, says that in the space where it is not manifest, the dharma, the general category does not exist because it cannot be observed. The individual categories are distinct and not mixed, like a pot and a pillar. Combination is divided into distinct and non-distinct. A distinct combination is like having two horns on the head. A non-distinct combination is like a conch shell having whiteness and roundness. Liberation through knowledge means that if one understands and meditates on these six meanings, one can attain liberation. Although samsara has no beginning, it is not without end. By merely understanding it, that person will ultimately attain liberation. If one abandons the conceptualizations of body and mind, one will reach the stainless, completely pure state, like a fire that has consumed its fuel. The self, such as wisdom, possesses qualities. The yogi who has uprooted it from its source, the existence of the self abiding in the mind, is determined by the Vaisheshikas. That is to say, in the state of liberation, the self exists beyond all extremes of existence and non-existence, permanence and annihilation. As they believe: not existent, not non-existent, nor both; not one, not small, nor large; this is neither permanent nor impermanent; not self, not other, not those. There are three refutations to this: there is no reason for establishment, there is harm, and liberation cannot be attained through knowledge. The first point is that proving Ishvara to be eternal through measured and certain signs is contradictory because those signs are universally not created by an eternal Ishvara. Because Ishvara is not constant, he has never existed as a creator, and Ishvara's existence as a creator is negated by signs that can be observed but are not observed. There are five harms: Ishvara, substance, quality,
