It is like the earth. Not seeing due to the decline of the senses is like a blind person not seeing objects. Not seeing due to lack of mind is like the surroundings when one is asleep. Not seeing due to fineness is like fine particles of flour. Not seeing due to obscuration is like the internal organs of the body. Not seeing due to suppression is like the stars in the daytime. Not seeing due to mixing is like the particles of milk when blood and milk are mixed. Among these, a pot made of clay is also not seen because the energy of the material suppresses the result. The destruction of things is also because the manifestation merges into the end of the kalpa or the original source and becomes unclear, like livestock being put into a pen. This is not a destruction where existence completely disappears. In short, things are not newly created from nothing, nor is there a complete destruction of existence, but the nature is constant and the state changes. What arises from the original source and dissolves into the original source is like the state of a sheep, wool, felt, coarse cloth, sand, and fine particles, which become invisible when they become one with the original source. The beginning is also the nature of the original source, so it is the finest particle. Although it appears clearly through the transformation of states, it ultimately does not change from the original nature. Therefore, the one who enjoys the senses, objects, and the twenty-four elements such as the five great elements of earth, water, fire, wind, and space is called "self" or "person," which is consciousness, is constant, is unique, is not the doer, is the enjoyer, and has five qualities. As it says in the *Entering* (Tattvasamāsa): “The enjoyer is permanent, real, and not the doer, qualities without action are observed by the heretics, those divisions, those divisions, slightly relying on, the tenets of the heretics become different.” It is like this. Therefore, it is consciousness because it can recognize objects. It is constant because it does not change in the three times of past, present, and future. That is, the nature does not change, but the state changes to happiness and so on due to conditions. It is unique because each sentient being has only one consciousness. Each of them also pervades everything, so there is no coming and going. It is not the doer because it does not do anything, because all phenomena are done by the original source. It is the enjoyer because the original source…

It is for enjoying the various forms of manifestation. To introduce it in an easy-to-understand way, like when seeing forms and other things, the clear and unobstructed awareness, bright and clear, without conceptualizing on the object, naturally abiding within, appearing, that is called "self." Therefore, it is desired to become accustomed to this and attain liberation. That is, the twenty-four, such as the eye, have the nature of serving others, because they are accumulated and created. For example, like a mattress and a cushion. There are only twenty-five knowable things, and when the twenty-four become the focus of dispute, there is no choice but "Purusha," they think so. Second, regarding classification, there are three: classifying from the perspective of matter and awareness; classifying from the perspective of cause and effect; and classifying from the perspective of conventional and ultimate. The first is that the twenty-four are matter, and "I" is the only awareness. The second is expressed as nature and manifestation, divided into four categories, among which, "chief" is the only nature, because it is not created by anything. Ego, intelligence, and the five objects, these seven are both cause and effect, that is, they arise from the "chief," from intelligence arises ego, from ego arises "that much" etc., from "that much" arises the five great elements. The eleven senses and the five great elements, these sixteen are the only manifestation, that is, they arise from the "chief," and do not produce anything outward. And "I" is neither cause nor effect, because it is not created by anything, nor does it produce anything outward. Nowadays, some great figures who consider themselves to belong to this school also think so, they introduce that: the nature of mind is clear and non-conceptual at present, this has no cause and effect, nor does it produce any cause and effect, so one should become accustomed to its state. This is the same as the view of the Samkhya school, so it tends towards that direction. As previously said: "Chief" is nature, unchanging. The seven, such as "Great," are nature and manifestation. "Sixteen transformations" are the manifestation itself. "Purusha" is neither nature nor manifestation. It is said so. Regarding the classification of the two truths, "chief" is matter, "I" is awareness, Purusha, the two are the ultimate truth, and the other twenty-three are the conventional truth. As it says therein: The nature of the three गुण (Sanskrit गुण,guṇa,quality) is supreme, becoming the path of seeing.
