From the works of Parungba. Because things are always of the nature of arising and ceasing in an instant, there should be no cessation. Just as stringing together a hundred mustard seeds does not break the thread. The continuum is without cessation because it is inseparable from many instants, like a generality. The cessation of what is imputed is impossible, because contradictions would gather. Here, in order to refute nirvana, there are three points: there is no happiness in samsara, one should not only seek temporary happiness, and ultimate nirvana cannot be negated. The first point is that there can be no happiness in samsara, because it does not go beyond the three sufferings of suffering, change, and conditioning. The second point is that something that is slightly pleasing cannot last and is the cause of future suffering, like having illicit relations with the king's consort. The third point is that the omniscient one cannot be negated, because on top of the absence of a negator's valid cognition, there is an establisher. Similarly, one's own school also believes that liberation is attained by taking temporary happiness as the path, and that the nature of the mind is only happiness, thus negating the accomplishment of liberation. The three hundred and sixty views are: the leaf-wearers, etc., are one hundred and twenty. Multiplying by the three times, there are three hundred and sixty. Separated from the correct path, wandering in the cycle of eternalism and nihilism. The teachers of the leaf-wearers, etc., are one hundred and twenty. They have appeared in the past, exist now, and will appear in the future. Adding these three groups of one hundred and twenty, there are three hundred and sixty. Their path will never attain liberation, because they are drowning in the river of eternalism and nihilism. What are the names of those teachers? The king-diviner, the non-clinger, the liver, the leaf-wearer, the purifier, the pervader, the pervader-mind, the three-staffer, the leather-wearer, the common-practicer, these ten. The supreme god, the giver of the supreme dharma, the ascetic, the hand-ascetic, the king-speaker, the elder-speaker, Meyo Atari, the one who accords with lineage, the bound-sitter, the wheel-turner, these twenty. The mountain-dweller, the king's alms-gatherer, the bull-banner, the reader, the inner, the horse-tamer, the Kalandakana, the pure-vessel-holder, the beggar.
