Because there is not. Also, the Middle Perfection of Wisdom Sutra states: Form is not self, self does not reside in form, self does not possess form, and form does not depend on self. Similarly, feeling, thought, volition, and consciousness are also not self. Chandrakirti also said: Form is not self, self does not reside in form, self does not possess form, and form does not depend on self. Feeling, thought, volition, and consciousness, the twenty views observed in four ways are unreasonable. Thus it is proclaimed. The sixty-two views are: The eighteen views of the past extremity, such as the assertion of permanence, and the forty-four views of the future extremity, such as the existence of perception. All of these, by engaging in non-reasoning views, are merely inverted thoughts that adorn existence. Those who rely on the sixty-two views constantly wander in samsara, and therefore there is no meaning in attaining liberation. What are the sixty-two views? They are the eighteen views that rely on the past extremity and the forty-four views that rely on the future extremity. First, the eighteen views of the past extremity can be understood in five

Some believe that the four elements of the formless realm cease. Seeing that mind and mental factors arise without ceasing, they assert that the four elements are impermanent, while mind and mental factors are permanent. All four of these people see the permanent god as liberation, and therefore desire to attain the permanent god. The four who assert that there is an end or no end are: Some people can only see from hell to the fourth dhyana with their clairvoyance, and think that there is nothing beyond that, so they assert that self and the world have an end. Some people, although they have not seen everything, have seen the boundary of the end, and think that there is also something beyond that, so they assert that self and the world have no end. Some people see the end of the human world, but do not see the end of the Brahma world, so they assert that there is both an end and no end. Some people, although they have seen the Brahma world, think that it cannot be measured by finite or infinite, so they assert that self and the world are neither finite nor infinite. The four who assert that gods should not be abandoned are: Previously, in a place of non-Buddhists, others argued with us, and if they refuted, they would say that gods should not be abandoned. After making this agreement, they were divided into four due to the difference of four kinds of wisdom: When asked a person with little wisdom what his view was, he said that he did not know anything else, so he said that gods should not be abandoned. When asked a person who had not studied the tenets, he also said that he did not know anything else, so he said that gods should not be abandoned. Even those who have studied but have no certainty also say that gods should not be abandoned. When asked a person who is arrogant because he thinks he has attained realization, he also thinks that no one can answer, so he says that gods should not be abandoned. The two views that believe in no cause are: relying on meditation and relying on reason. The first is that some people who died and were reborn from the realm of non-perception, because they did not see the subtle parts of the Alaya consciousness, thought that it arose from the absence of their own six senses, so they thought that all the worlds arose without cause. They think that the subtle particles of the container world are produced from indivisible dust particles, because they do not see the dust particles, so there is no cause, and they think that the minds of sentient beings did not exist before, so there is no cause. Those who rely on reason are: merely because they see clouds suddenly appearing in the sky and a strong wind suddenly rising, they think that there is no cause. There are forty-four speculations on the limits of the afterlife, divided into five
