The water flowing from the four great rivers, the Ganges, Indus, Pakshu, and Sita, after circling Lake Manasarovar seven times, naturally flows into the four oceans together with five hundred tributaries. From the trunk of the Jambū tree on the shore of the lake, fruits fall into the lake and turn into gold, equivalent to gold refined sixteen times. It is named because it is adorned with Jambū trees. Thereafter, people indulged in joy and happiness, and when their lifespan reached a hundred million years, they were born from eggs. All were born from eggs of five-colored light, and the light was seven cubits high, traveling in the sky with the wind. Then, when the lifespan reached six million six hundred thousand years, the light diminished by one cubit, and warm, moist creatures appeared, such as wish-fulfilling cows and intelligent horse kings. After that, people indulged in desires, and their lifespan and wealth gradually decreased. Again, desires arose from the wish-fulfilling tree, eating fruits and wearing leaves as clothes, and happiness arose when they saw and touched each other. Then, the sexual organs of men and women began to appear, and the desire for touch arose when they looked at each other. After the trees were cut down, the wish-fulfilling trees disappeared. Then, due to the decrease in lifespan and merit, they began to eat the essence of the earth, which tasted like honey, and the desire for satisfaction arose when they laughed at each other. The light faded, and darkness appeared due to the power of ignorance. Common karma produced the sun, moon, stars, and planets, and seasons such as day and night appeared. Gradually, the oil of the earth and gardens of sprouts appeared, as well as fruits without husks. Due to the coarse food, the passages for excrement and urine, and the sexual organs of men and women also fully appeared, and the desire to embrace and engage in sexual intercourse arose. Because of shame, thatched houses appeared; all of these occurred during the Fully Endowed Age. Thereafter, due to laziness, hoarding and storing began, and husks also appeared on the rice. After being divided separately, stealing from each other occurred. At that time, a person of good nature appeared, respected by everyone, and was called a king; the first king respected by the masses appeared. Some who went from home to the outside were called Brahmins, and they began to practice cleanliness. Some who stayed at home, were wealthy, and respected their parents were also called the Jē'u race. Some who acted against the Dharma were called commoners. The types of races

It arises from the place of stillness. Among the evil destinies, the sentient beings of hell are those who, having accumulated the karma to become masters, become the lords of death, and then their retinue, the guardians of hell, and the dogs and birds, fire and weapons, arise from the power of karma. Similarly, the way pretas and animals are formed is also that their respective karmas cause them to appear in their respective situations and kinds, and the appearance of place, meaning, and body is the appearance of suffering. Thus, when one sentient being is born in the hell realm, until that time, it is the kalpa of formation and abiding. One intermediate kalpa is required for the formation of the vessel world, and nineteen intermediate kalpas are required for the formation of sentient beings, totaling twenty. It is said that this is the kalpa of world formation. From the treatise on the essential instructions of the Great Vehicle, the Wish-Fulfilling Jewel Treasury, the fourth chapter, which explains the nature of the formation of sentient beings. Chapter Five, Explaining the Kalpa of Abiding. Thereafter, the twenty intermediate kalpas of abiding are the three: the beginning, middle, and end. The first begins from a lifespan of immeasurable years, and up to the tenth intermediate kalpa, it decreases by two hundred every hundred years. This is the initial long kalpa, the decreasing kalpa. After that, increase and decrease form a pair, and eighteen units are the intermediate sections of increase and decrease, with units increasing and decreasing every hundred years. After that, as before, increasing upwards and decreasing downwards is known as the final long kalpa. The initial kalpa, the final kalpa, and the intermediate sections together are considered the nature of the twenty intermediate kalpas of abiding. A slight explanation of these increases and decreases is that at the time of eighty thousand years, the city is prosperous, and the ground is filled to the extent that a crow flying over can reach. Many Chakravartins also appear, and the prosperity is vast, comparable to the realm of the desire gods. After that, due to the influence of non-virtue, it decreases, and between sixty thousand and twenty-one thousand years, lifespan, enjoyment, and the qualities of the place decrease. At the age of ten, (Nabu) conceptual thoughts and afflictions are coarse. People's bodies vary in size, they are hot during the day and cold at night, and they are tormented by poverty and harm. Good grains disappear, and they live on sixty kinds of food, clothes are worn, and silk and the like disappear. There is never any salt, and butter cannot be extracted from yogurt. Parents, ascetics, Brahmins, etc., are not respected, they are cursed, and evil people are praised. From these depleting weapons, diseases, and famines, the first way the weapon kalpa arises is that people fight each other.
