Therefore, one enters through the gate of non-dual wisdom. As stated in the Guhyagarbha Tantra: "Through the net of illusion, one attains complete enlightenment, endowed with skillful means and wisdom." And again: "Having combined skillful means and wisdom." Secondly, the outer tantras do not realize that the truth of the ultimate reality is inseparable. They posit four extremes, four families, or five families of the truth of emptiness. The inner tantras hold that the ultimate reality is self-awareness, free from all extremes of elaboration. The truth of conventional reality is that all conceptual thoughts appear as form and wisdom, and these two are inseparable in the mind. As it is said, "Mantra is widely renowned as the inseparability of ultimate and conventional truth." Thirdly, the vows of the outer tantras are kept with acceptance and rejection, guarding, pacifying, and accomplishing. The inner tantras keep vows without acceptance, rejection, or abandonment. As it says in the Gsal Bakra: "Attachment, hatred, ignorance, pride, and jealousy are not abandoned." Fourthly, regarding meditation, the outer tantras have little focus on samadhi, meditating on the five enlightenments. The inner tantras meditate on the three samadhis, the one great secret family, the one suchness family, the eight noble families, the mandala of a thousand Buddhas, and the samadhi that distinguishes appearances. Fifthly, regarding conduct, the outer tantras cannot partake of the five samaya substances of nectar, while the inner tantras partake of the five samaya substances of nectar. As it says, "Enjoying the five nectars." Sixthly, regarding accomplishment, the outer tantras accomplish the self-samaya-being and the deity's wisdom-being as separate through the five external offerings. The three families of Kriya tantra generate the samaya-being through the eleven-limbed ritual. The wisdom-being, of whatever form, is invited from Akanishta, offerings are made, and the deity and self are meditated upon as lord and servant, relying on the wisdom-being for accomplishment. Upa-yoga involves meditating on the samaya-being as possessing four qualities. The wisdom-being, of whatever form, is invited from Akanishta and offerings are made. One meditates with the hope of accomplishment, regarding the deity and self as separate, like master and servant. Yoga involves meditating on deities with forms due to limited intelligence, with the self as the samaya-being and the deity as the thirty-seven factors of enlightenment.
