Whoever generates the mind of enlightenment, wishing to liberate them, that has immeasurable benefits, the compassionate protector with wisdom, spoke thus to the noble ones. Thus it is. Fifth is the distinction of meditation: First, the object of the Lesser Vehicle, is based on the fundamental with characteristics. The three samadhi of the Hearers, the solitary realizer meditates by ceasing in stages or on the momentary wisdom. That is also from the Compendium, for example, eating delicious food mixed with poison, the Victorious Ones said that focusing on white dharma is also like that. Thus it is. Second, the Great Vehicle is: meditating in the way of not focusing on all dharmas. That is also from the Compendium, the Bodhisattva does not focus on the mind of enlightenment, the mind of enlightenment does not focus. Thus it is. Sixth is the distinction of conduct: First, the Lesser Vehicle is: practicing virtuous deeds for hundreds of thousands of eons, is to act for the sake of liberating oneself from samsara. That is also from the Compendium, even if one practices the ten virtuous deeds for hundreds of thousands of eons, if one generates desire for oneself as a solitary Buddha and an Arhat, then the discipline has faults, the discipline is broken. Generating (the mind of enlightenment) is even heavier than the defeat by others. Thus it is. Second, the Great Vehicle is: with the superior intention completely pure, with body, enjoyment, and all the roots of virtue, acting for the benefit of sentient beings. That is also from the Compendium, acting for the sake of sentient beings is manifest. That is also from the Compendium, the wisdom paramita with definite understanding that manifestly enters for the sake of sentient beings. Thus it is. That also says, the heroes go under the power of all sentient beings. Thus it is. Seventh is the distinction of accomplishment: First, the Lesser Vehicle is: because the means and wisdom are separated, one only accomplishes one aspect of the characteristics. That is also from the Compendium, without means, separated from wisdom, one can only become a Hearer. Thus it is. Second, the Great Vehicle is: accomplishing with the inseparability of means and wisdom. That is also from the Compendium, having fully grasped the umbrella of both means and wisdom, one will touch the supreme enlightenment that does not abide in the two extremes. Thus it is. Eighth is the distinction of obtaining the fruit: First, the Lesser Vehicle is: the nirvana with remainder and without remainder, the Arhat and the wisdom of the solitary rhinoceros-like peaceful dharmakaya, it is impossible for great compassion to arise for the benefit of others. That is also from the Compendium, the wisdom of the Arhats and the Pratyekabuddhas.

The three realms are pure, like unwanted things in a dream. Thus it is said. The second, the Mahayana, is the attainment of non-abiding Nirvana, great wisdom that does not abide at the edge of Samsara is the Dharmakaya. One attains the wisdom of omniscience. It is also said in the Compendium: 'This non-abiding, non-non-abiding is said by the Victor to be the abiding.' Thus it is said. In the Names, it is said: 'The ocean of all-knowing wisdom.' Thus it is said. Great compassion does not abide at the edge of Nirvana, but with the two form bodies, it performs various purposes, both pure and impure. It is also said in the Names: 'The enjoyment body is the king of bodies, the Buddha's emanations perform various deeds, thus performing the purpose of beings in four ways.' Thus it is said. The Tantra of the Fruit. Secondly, the Tantra of the Fruit has two aspects: explaining the difference between the Sutra Vehicle and the Mantra Vehicle of the Fruit, and the actual arising of the Mantra Vehicle. First, explaining the difference between the Sutra Vehicle and the Mantra Vehicle of the Fruit. The first is that the nature of mind is regarded as the cause of Buddhahood, and ultimate truth is practiced, while conventional truth is abandoned, which is the Sutra Vehicle. The nature of mind is regarded as the fruit of Buddhahood, and conventional truth is not abandoned but used as the path, which is the Mantra Vehicle of the Fruit. The differences between these are nine in detail: the difference of their own nature, the difference of how to take them as the path, the difference of the entrance, the difference of realization, the difference of the activity of practice, the difference of the method of practice, and the difference of the fruit. Among these, the difference of their own nature is fivefold. The first is said in the Kriya Tantra: 'Although it is one meaning, there is no delusion, many methods and no difficulty, relying on the sharp faculties, the Mantra Vehicle is particularly excellent.' Thus it is said. The so-called one meaning is that the Sutra practitioners say that the ultimate truth is not the object of practice, but the object of practice of the noble ones who dwell on the ground, and they are deluded about the one meaning. The Mantra practitioners, relying on the truth of ultimate truth, relying on the instructions of the holy Guru, can realize it in an instant in the present time, and are not deluded about the one meaning. The second difference is the difference between many and few methods. The Sutra practitioners have few methods to liberate sentient beings from Samsara.
