Below it, the foundation is made of gold, adorned with various jewels, and when stepped on, it sinks softly, and when lifted, it bounces back, being very supple. In the four directions of that city, there are four great avenues, the width of each avenue being twelve yojanas, and the length being two thousand one hundred and twenty-five yojanas. The ground of those avenues is made by spreading gold dust, and near the right and left sides of those avenues, there are ponds possessing eight qualities and tasting of honey, adorned with various flowers such as lotuses. All around it, there are many wish-fulfilling trees where birds sing sweetly. By the merit of the gods, the seasonal wind rises, causing all the old flowers to wither and the new flowers to bloom. Outside that city, there is a surrounding wall of gold, with a height of half a yojana. Outside that, in the moat, it is surrounded by seven layers of cool, clear, honey-flavored, and delightful water, and in the four directions, there are jeweled bridges erected. That city has more than a thousand gates, and each gate has five hundred guards. In the center of that city is the Victorious Mansion, made of four kinds of precious materials, with a foundation of gold and adorned with various jewels. Each side is two hundred and fifty yojanas, and the circumference is a thousand yojanas, and its height rises five and a half yojanas higher than other cities. It has one hundred and one roofs, and within each roof, there are seven stacked rooms. Outside the beautiful city, to the east, there is a garden of various kinds of trees, to the south, there is the Rough Transformation (Rtsub-'gyur) garden, to the west, there is the Mixed ('Dres-pa) garden, and to the north, it is adorned with the Joyful (Dga'-ba) garden. In the northeast corner of the city of Delight (Tibetan: ཁྱེར་ལྟ་ན་སྡུག་), there is a tree called "Total Gathering" that sprouts from the ground. Its roots extend fifty yojanas downwards, it rises five hundred yojanas upwards, and it has a circumference of three hundred yojanas. From it, all desirable qualities arise. In the southwest corner of the city of Delight (Tibetan: ཁྱེར་ལྟ་ན་སྡུག་), there is the Good Dharma Hall, which is the assembly place of the gods. Its shape is round. Its top, bottom foundation, and all pillars and beams are made of crystal. Its dimensions are three hundred yojanas upwards, three hundred yojanas in diameter, three hundred yojanas in circumference, and a total circumference of nine hundred yojanas. Inside it, there is a stone called "Amolika," each side of the square being fifty yojanas. Peacock eye patterns are painted with one hundred and one different gemstone colors. It is as soft as a cottonwood leaf to the touch, and when stepped on, it is like bouncing when lifted. In the center of that stone, there is a golden throne where the king of the gods teaches the Dharma to the gods, and the flowers and so on are the same as before. Now, the abodes of the gods residing in the sky are shown: Above the Thirty-Three, there are twenty-one abodes of gods resting in the sky. These are the four abodes of gods of the desire realm and the seventeen abodes of gods of the form realm. They are lifted into the sky by the wind and arranged in order. Their size is: the abode of the gods of No Strife is equal to the peak of Mount Meru. The Joyful, the Delighting in Emanation, and the Controlling Others' Emanations are each twice as large as the previous one. Then, the abode of the first dhyana is equal to the area of the four continents, the second dhyana is equal to the small chiliocosm, the third dhyana is equal to the middle chiliocosm, and the fourth dhyana is equal to the great chiliocosm. So, how far apart are these abodes of the gods? The distance between the upper and lower abodes of the gods is: the distance from the peak of Mount Meru to the four continents of the human realm is eighty thousand yojanas, and the level of No Strife is the same. The distance from No Strife to the four continents of the human realm is eighty thousand yojanas, and the level of No Strife is the same.
