Through meditation, having abandoned the four hundred and fourteen things to be abandoned by seeing and meditating in the three realms, one desires to be liberated by manifesting the supreme wisdom of knowing exhaustion and knowing non-arising. The Sutra tradition school believes that by knowing the four truths as the objects to be focused on, and the twelve consciousnesses as the focusing consciousnesses, eighty-eight subtle afflictions are abandoned, and one desires to realize the supreme wisdom. This is similar to the previously mentioned selflessness of the person, but on top of that, the realm of phenomena is superior in one aspect. That is because the five bases of knowable objects of part-containing atoms are obscured by the chief consciousness. The five bases are: the chief consciousness, the base of mental events arising from the mind, the base of non-associated compositional factors, the base of unconditioned permanence, and the base of manifest form. By realizing the nature of these five phenomena, even indivisible atoms are not obscured. Therefore, one aspect of the realm of phenomena, that is, half of the object of grasping, the coarse-appearing atoms, the atoms attached to tangible things, is more superior than before by realizing its indivisibility. This is similar to not accepting atoms because they do not exist in the ultimate sense. Both of these, when meditating on the path, diligently practice the stages of the arising of the five paths. As a common antidote to the three poisons, meditate on selflessness and illusion. As individual antidotes, for desire, meditate on the eight impure things and the skeleton; for hatred, meditate on loving-kindness; for ignorance, meditate on dependent arising in forward and reverse order; and as an antidote to conceptual thought, meditate on counting and measuring the exhaling and inhaling of breath. When meditating on selflessness, also meditate on the meaning of the cessation of object and subject, not focusing on anything. If there is dullness, focus the mind on a burning butter lamp on the crown of the head as an antidote to dullness and ignorance. By doing so, some with dull and middling faculties and diligence will attain the result in this very life, while some with sharp faculties and Bodhisattvas will perfect the five paths on one seat, relying on the basis of having accumulated many collections of the five paths in the past, and thus desire to be liberated. Furthermore, from the perspective of the Hearer's Vehicle, they believe that through small, medium, and large faculties, the three Bodhis of Hearers, Solitary Buddhas, and Buddhas can be accomplished, but they do not accept the Great Vehicle and the Mantra Vehicle. For Hearers and Solitary Realizers, starting from the stage of white appearance, etc.

The eight grounds of inferior beings are explained. Based on them, one attains Stream-enterer, Once-returner, Non-returner, and Arhat. Each of these is divided into two stages, entering and abiding, thus they are called the eight stages of great beings. It is also said that the ten grounds of Bodhisattvas, such as the Joyful Ground, have four fruits of asceticism. These are also from 'Self-Arisen Wisdom': Listen to the Hearer Vehicle like this: The gate of entry is the Four Truths, This is the common entry for Hearers. Two kinds of divisions are asserted: Vaibhashika and Sautrantika. The view of the Vaibhashikas is: For the aggregates, elements, and sources, They are considered like a yak tail and a forest. If it becomes an object of one's own mind, It is considered as dust and minute particles. Likewise, by analyzing in various ways, One meditates on emptiness. The view of the Sautrantikas is: Through the nature of recitation, And the three of hearing, thinking, and meditating, By meditating on the three kinds of wisdom, It is asserted that the fruits of the ten grounds can be attained. The common aspect of Hearers is: Meditating on the four aspects of the Truths, It is asserted that there are four kinds of fruits. The method of meditation is like this: For those who want to meditate on Cessation, They want to abandon Origination. The method of meditating on Cessation is like this: For these external elements, Having entered a state of non-attachment, First, one becomes accustomed to food. Having become accustomed to food, One meditates on Samadhi, Meditating on unwavering, single-pointed Samadhi. In the teachings of the Victorious Maitreya, It is asserted that the fruit can be attained. Abandoning Origination is like this: Separated from the perception of food, It is asserted that the continuity of Origination is cut off. That is, one meditates as an antidote to hatred, Abandoning all defilements. Meditating on the grounds and paths is like this: Meditating as an antidote to desire, Meditating as an antidote to delusion, Likewise, the meditation of the path is: Wanting to abandon suffering. The method of meditating on the path is like this: As an antidote to desire, In the center of one's forehead, A white skeleton the size of a thumb, From meditating on white light, From that, generating a skeleton the size of a head, Then meditating on a skeleton the size of a body, Then the size of one's dwelling, Then meditating on everything that appears. Thus, the three thousand worlds are white, Thus, one becomes accustomed to white.
