Earth, etc." "If these are explained in detail, it is sufficient to omit them because the manifestation is limitless. Secondly, to explain the nature of wisdom in detail, there are two types: the wisdom of the fundamental abode and the wisdom that holds characteristics. The first is the three aspects of essence, nature, and compassion. Essence appears as the body, nature appears as light, and compassion appears as the activity of benefiting others. As it is said, in the "Union of Sun and Moon Tantra": The wisdom of the fundamental abode is threefold: the wisdom of the essence of primordial purity, the wisdom of the nature of spontaneous accomplishment, and the wisdom of the compassion of self-manifestation. The second is the five wisdoms that hold characteristics. Because the body possesses the Dharmadhatu, it arises from its power, that is, from self-arising. Because the body is immutable, unceasing wisdom arises. It is like this: Because the body possesses the Dharmadhatu, the wisdom of the Dharmadhatu arises. Because the Dharmadhatu possesses clarity, the mirror-like wisdom arises. Because clarity possesses non-duality, the wisdom of equality arises. Because non-duality possesses vision, the wisdom of discriminating awareness arises. Because vision possesses measure, the wisdom of accomplishing activities arises. Thirdly, light is the self-sound of wisdom, divided into two types: inner clear subtle, deeply clear beyond color, and outer clear coarse, grasping color. The first is the spontaneously accomplished self-sound of the Dharmadhatu of primordial purity, like the inner light of crystal, but the five lights that do not actually appear as colors, that is, abiding in the womb of the Dharmadhatu of self-born awareness, as stated in the "Union of Sun and Moon Tantra": The non-abiding wisdom, pure in its own place, the light beyond color, is the stainless white, pure in its own place, not appearing in any object. The unsearched yellow, pure in its own place, does not appear as an object. The red without attachment, pure in its own place, awareness does not appear as the knowable. The green without effort, pure in its own place, transcends all action and agent. The unchanging vast blue, pure in its own place, awareness does not abide as any entity. This is both the basis for the arising of lights and the place where lights dissolve. That is, at the time of the initial Dharmadhatu appearance, the current path appearance, and the Bardo self-appearance, these five lights emanate outward from this, and at the time of the setting of the present, Bardo, or fundamental appearance, these five dissolve into their respective Dharmadhatu. In short, the inner

Those who abide in body and wisdom are the origin and end of the outwardly appearing body and the manifested wisdom. Second, the five lights that hold color are: In "Self-Arisen" it says: Light arises from wisdom, and because wisdom is unchanging, blue arises. Because wisdom is pure, white arises. Because qualities arise from wisdom, yellow arises. Because wisdom is perfect in power, red arises. Because wisdom is perfect in activity, green arises. It also abides in the same way for all sentient beings. And as said before: The self-arisen clear light, the light that holds color, is fivefold: white, yellow, red, green, and blue. Fourth, there are three bindus: In the "Union of Sun and Moon" it says: There are three bindus: the bindu that holds the base, the bindu of the appearing path, and the bindu of the self-maturing fruit. The first is that in the center of the heart, the spontaneously accomplished bindu of the five lights abides within the purity of the light channels, appearing as a halo of five lights, and is therefore called the bindu of the light of its own nature. Adorned with the awareness of primordial purity, it is called the bindu of Samantabhadra. As it says in the same text: There are two bindus that hold the base: the bindu of the light of its own nature and the bindu of Samantabhadra. This very bindu is called the indestructible bindu in Guhyasamaja and the unchanging bindu in Chakrasamvara. As it says in the root tantra: Always abiding in the heart, the one bindu is without change. For the person who meditates on it, wisdom will certainly arise. This is what is taught. Second, there are two bindus of the path: In the "Union of Sun and Moon" it says: There are two bindus of the appearing path: the bindu of conventional cause and the bindu of ultimate reality. The first has already been explained in detail, but to explain it briefly: As it says in the same text: The bindu of conventional cause abides within the channels of all embodied beings, appearing as the father's cause and the mother's condition. Furthermore, the essence of the elements gathers to produce the red bindu of the mother. The essence of all bodhicitta gathers to produce the white bindu of the father. Therefore, the elements gather and ripen into form. Bodhicitta gathers and ripens into memory, thought, feeling, and awareness. Among them, the spontaneously born and the egg-born
