Now, although it appears, it abides in the wisdom of original purity, spontaneously perfect in nature, free from elaboration, and beyond partiality. Abiding in the all-pervading wisdom, it is the unchanging ground. Emptiness is: appearing as the wisdom that grasps characteristics, it is empty of the phenomena that grasp things as having inherent existence. Emptiness is clear in the luminous and clear plan like a mirror. Because it is empty of grasping directions, categories, center, and edges, it abides in the wisdom of equality. In the state of emptiness without partiality, all mental discriminations vanish, and it does not remain in the wisdom of individual discrimination. Emptiness transcends effort and is liberated into the wisdom of accomplishing activities. Emptiness does not move from the mandala of the one and gathers into the wisdom of the dharmadhatu. This is called the wisdom free from elaboration. The lamp is: the wisdom gathered by knowledge. That is also the wisdom gathered by worldly knowledge, which is without limit for the nature of phenomena that cannot be abandoned. For the nature of phenomena that is pure from the beginning, where nothing needs to be abandoned on the ground, there is no cultivation, the wisdom gathered by transcendence. By seeing the unmade, relaxed root, the wisdom gathered by the knowable. By seeing the luminosity, the direct perception of the senses, the wisdom gathered by seeing. Seeing objects and aspects as they are, the wisdom gathered by intelligence. The wisdom of the self-arisen lamp of wisdom is: movement, memory, discrimination, thought, etc. Among movements, there are two: wind and movement of mind. Wind has already been explained before. There are six movements of mind: the movement of mind that seeks everywhere, arising in the different causes, conditions, actions, and results of karma and afflictions. The movement of mind that determines, moving everything inside and out, arising as I, self, other, both, and neither. The movement of mind that definitely abides, thinking of one and two, etc., moving, oneself, others, appearance emptiness, everything that is not mixed with individual differences enters and grasps. The movement of mind's consciousness, for different objects, one consciousness thinks that various appearances appear, and does mind two, etc. Afflicted

The movement of mind arises from the causes, conditions, essence, and distinctions of desire, dullness, hatred, attachment, clinging, ignorance, and so forth. Through the movement of mind that holds onto the agent, past, future, and present objects, as well as the karma of samsara that follows and various ripening results, are accumulated. It is thus established by the causes, conditions, and multiple functions of memory and various latent tendencies. Some may think that it is sufficient to say only one "mind," but if they think that multiple classifications are unreasonable, then it would be sufficient to summarize it as one "mental event," and it would be equally unreasonable to divide it into fifty-one categories. Therefore, no matter how much classification and summarization there is, it is relative to the parts and there is no contradiction. The lamp of the completely pure realm of reality is the union of the manifestation of light and form. That is, the pervasive blue color, which is the union of the five colors, is unchanging, surrounded on all sides by a vajra fence, and the vajra chain has no place for error. Within it, the light body of light radiates light, and it appears that in this bardo of reality, one is cut off and attains complete and perfect enlightenment. The appearance of light appears as upright, radiating, and circumferential, so that delusion is self-extinguished and appears as wisdom. From these, the appearance of light appears as fragments, cloths, and truncated shapes, so that the inner and outer realms of reality are mixed and there is no interval in wisdom. From this, eye webs, eye hazes, eye haze patterns, nets, half nets, flowers, thousand-petaled lotuses, hearths, and brocade tent-like appearances arise, thereby transforming the appearance of reality into the path. These four lamps certainly determine the signs and degrees of the four path appearances. By seeing the manifest appearance of reality with the far-reaching lasso, wisdom is turned away from holding onto philosophical tenets as arbitrary. By seeing the increase of experience with the empty bindu, wisdom is turned away from holding onto pleasure as self-nature. By seeing awareness reaching its limit with the completely pure realm of reality, wisdom is turned away from the impure appearance of delusion. By seeing the exhausted appearance with self-born wisdom, wisdom is turned away from clinging to form and wisdom. The second topic, elaborating on the individual nature of the four lamps, is divided into four parts: the far-reaching water lamp, the empty bindu lamp, the dharma-
