If the essence is nirvana, then there is no need for liberation, just as the heat of fire does not need to be changed. If it is said that the appearances of the mind need to be changed, then this contradicts the fact that appearances cannot be changed. If it is said that it is the appearances of samsara, not the appearances of the ground, then the ground becomes dualistic, because if there are appearances of samsara apart from the ground. Furthermore, if it is insisted that the ground is necessarily realized, then the ground is not valid, because before realization there is a ground to be realized, and then the wisdom of realization arises, so realization does not depend on the ground. Although the ground depends on the wisdom of realization, it must exist before realization. If it is the ground even without realization, then how is it known to be the ground? If it is known by wisdom, then the statement that it is the ground even without realization is refuted. These and other faults are also pointed out in the "Six Treatises on Emptiness": The statement of a "definite ground" is not the true essence. For example, to those with jaundice, a conch appears yellow. Due to the difference of inversion in oneself, the grasping of self and other, certainty and extremes are absent. Therefore, that is also not true. Or, if the cause is definite and the result is definite, then it becomes no different from the permanent self. Is this not knowable? What was said is the same as above. The fourth view also expresses a claim: The essence is not biased towards any side or category, and appearances can be transformed into anything. The second view is a refutation of the former: If the ground can be transformed, then even the pure Buddha would become impure delusion, and sentient beings would be transformed into Buddhas and liberated without any effort. Also, the result would revert to the cause, because it is the ground of transformation. Also, earth and other material things would become consciousness, and consciousness would become material things. Also, if the essence is not biased towards any side, then is it transforming the essence, or transforming something else? If it is transforming the essence, then the essence cannot be the ground, because it is transformed into a dharma other than the ground. If it is transforming something else, then the promise to transform the essence into anything is broken. Also, is it transforming the permanent, or transforming the impermanent? The permanent cannot be transformed, like space. The impermanent does not need to be transformed, because it has already been transformed. Also, according to the reasoning of the three times, the past and future have no object to transform, because they are non-existent. The previous part of the present has ceased, and the later part has not yet arisen, so it does not exist. Since no object of transformation is found, it is unreasonable to say that the ground can be transformed into anything.

Furthermore, it was said before that transformation is possible. If one's own state can be transformed, then this too is similarly uncertain. Because the result can revert to the cause, all efforts are unnecessary. Since there is repeated transformation, how can matter be transformed by wisdom? Isn't this something to be known? What was said is also the same. Thus it is said. Fifthly, the assertion is also expressed: the nature of wisdom shines universally without bias, therefore it accepts everything. Secondly, refuting that: does accepting everything mean accepting that it exists from that basis, or not accepting that it exists? If it is the former, then permanence and impermanence would both be established simultaneously, because impermanence exists only as an appearance. If it is said that impermanence is established but permanence is not, then the claim that everything can be accepted is lost. Similarly, samsara would be liberated without effort, and those who are liberated would regress, because everything is accepted. If it is the latter, then admitting that the horns of a rabbit and the son of a barren woman create samsara and nirvana, etc., would lead to endless faults. Therefore, it is said in ○ཕ: The teacher previously said that it is endowed with all acceptances, all of this is just the pull of direction , in order to prove that everything is true , it will become an endless fault, isn't this something to be known? What the teacher said is the same as before. Thus it is said. Sixthly, the acceptance is also expressed: the nature shines universally, therefore it is believed that colorful appearances arise. Secondly, refuting that: is the colorfulness considered to be external appearance, or internal consciousness, or a combination of the two? If it is the former, just as colorful appearances arise, there would be the fault that the single basis also appears outwardly as many. If it is the latter, just as consciousness is momentary, the basis would also become momentary, and just as consciousness is many thoughts, the basis would also become like that, and just as consciousness is under the control of afflictions, the basis would also become like that. If it is the third, then the basis would become internal and external, the basis would become the apprehended and the apprehender, and the basis would become the six aggregates as the same side to be abandoned. Moreover, it is unreasonable for the basis to be a single essence, because it is a collection of many. These and other faults are mentioned in the Six Spaces: The teacher previously said it was colorful, this is also inconsistent with the direction, the face of what
