It makes greed and hatred self-liberate. By teaching the field of the Nirmana-kaya, it makes the aggregates, elements, and sense bases empty. By teaching the field of the extremely non-elaborate Sambhogakaya, it makes the mind realize the meaning of no coming and going. By prophesying the utterly non-elaborate Dharmakaya, it purifies the subtle obscurations of knowledge, which are attachment to samsara and nirvana. Secondly, elaborately explaining the distinctions of one's own nature, there are four empowerments. First, for those with elaboration. The elaborate of the elaborate is mixing the samaya substances and pouring the samaya water, etc., which is the outer. The elaborate of the non-elaborate is introducing into the mandala and showing the face of the deity, then bestowing the name empowerment, which is the inner. The elaborate of the extremely non-elaborate is bestowing the vows of the Shravakas, completing the nine stages, along with exhalation and praise, which is the secret. The elaborate of the utterly non-elaborate is the vase empowerment, which is the cause for the determined body, which is the complete. In this empowerment, the vase empowerment is determined as the support, visualizing the palace as the support, the deity appearing, this empowerment is the complete outer elaborate. Visualizing the student's body as the deity, purifying the four elements, bestowing material empowerments, sun and moon, etc., this is the inner non-elaborate. Giving the mudra and determining the union, this is the secret extremely non-elaborate. Giving the words that determine the meaning, this is the complete utterly non-elaborate. Thus, since the complete empowerment has four, the other three should also be known. Thus, the necessity of distinguishing the elaborate with sixteen is that the four bonds of the body's four elements are destroyed. The four elements are also divided into four, such as earth of earth, so there is a necessity to purify the sixteen. Secondly, the distinctions of the four empowerments of the non-elaborate are: the non-elaborate of the elaborate purifies the four of body, speech, mind, and heart, and the four places of letters, which is the outer. Its non-elaborate symbolizes the three doors being without basis, beyond effort and activity, which is the inner. Its extremely non-elaborate transforms the five objects into the path, liberating the five senses like the clear sky, which is the secret. Its utterly non-elaborate generates special realization, which is the complete. The necessity of these four empowerments is to be liberated from the four bonds of what is said, what says, what is to be said, and saying of speech. Thirdly, the distinctions of the extremely non-elaborate's own nature are: extremely non-

Distinguishing between the elaborations of non-elaboration is external. Offering the mandala of non-elaboration and praying is internal. Entering the mandala of space, which is extremely non-elaborate, is secret. The utterly non-elaborate self-recognition of awareness is complete. The necessity of these four is to break the bonds of the mind's movement, the mover, the moved, and the movement. Fourth, the distinction of the utterly non-elaborate self-nature is: In the elaborations of utter non-elaboration, conforming to the manner of dwelling is external. Performing the act of viewing in its non-elaboration is internal. Conforming to the manner of viewing and gazing in all four directions in its extreme non-elaboration is secret. The utterly non-elaborate "gone, gone, etc." is complete. The necessity of these four is to break the bonds of the four: mind's thought, memory, discrimination, and attachment. Here, the meaning of mind and intellect: The consciousness of the five senses grasping objects, the function of discrimination, and the alaya consciousness are the mind. Unrelated to that, the deliberation on the sequence of events and the general meaning of the object of the mind is called intellect. Grasping objects of one's own appearance, and grasping non-objects, are distinguished by grasping clarity and non-clarity. Thus, each distinction of self-nature has four: outer, inner, secret, and complete, totaling sixteen. Third, the extremely extensive elaboration through the distinctions of various transformations has three aspects: showing the sixteen-fold purifying causes through the distinctions of the purifying actions of each sense faculty; showing the abiding state of the senses through the distinctions of certainty based on the actions of the body; and showing the purifying actions of karma and afflictions based on the distinctions of number. The first is that the sixteen distinctions of the self-nature of the senses purify the sixteen outward-arising actions, purify the sixteen mental discriminations inwardly, purify the sixteen wind-energies of drawing in and releasing secretly, and establish the certainty of abiding in the sixteen bhumis without superior, thus showing the sixteen senses. The purifying actions of these senses are established in dependence on the purification of the impurities of the four: body, speech, mind, and intellect. Among these, the body, with the collection of elements gathered by water, becomes the impurity of the bond of bondage. With fire, ripening and clarifying them, it becomes the impurity of the accomplishment of things. With wind, causing each to perform its respective function, therefore
