One should obstruct the arising of Gapa Sangka. By contracting with the syllable "Hum" (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:Hum), the two, outer appearance and inner awareness, are placed and abandoned in the interval, and awareness is obstructed into a single Sangka. As it says in the Great Garuda: "That wisdom, free from appearance, non-existence, and emptiness, Not grasping, not releasing, not defiling, self-purifying. Who can touch the three of one? Neither false nor true, the way of abiding is clear." And again: "The exhaustion of karma, faculties, words, and mind, Clearing away defilement, correction, means, and the obstacles of wisdom, Depending on that dharma-less dharma is the desire for the fruit itself. Without need and without the bondage of further desire, The loosening, original, authentic, obstruction of warmth, Transforming into its own state, obstructing between samsara and nirvana." This is the establishment of the reason for the liberation of oneness: However one abides, one abides in one's own state; however one exists, one exists in one's own state; however one goes, one goes in one's own state. In the realm of enlightenment, there is naturally no going or coming. The body of the Buddhas is without going or coming. Just as all appearances of going, abiding, and existing in a dream appear in the state of a single sleep, yet there is no going, abiding, or existing in sleep, so too, all phenomena of samsara and nirvana, and all that appears as going, abiding, and existing for beings here, have not moved from the state of the single awareness that is the ground, non-existent appearance, and clear appearance. The nature of awareness is the nature of no going or coming, and the Dharmakaya of the Buddhas abides in its own place, without moving. As it says in the All-Creating King: "Appearance, existence, container, content, samsara, nirvana, suchness, Have not moved from the mind of enlightenment, Everything has not moved from the mind of enlightenment." All speech has not gone beyond the state of the unutterable awareness, therefore it is shown to be inexpressible in meaning: However one speaks, one speaks in one's own state; however one expresses, one expresses in one's own state. In the mind of enlightenment, there is naturally no speech. No speech is the speech of the Buddhas of the three times. This is also like the speech of a dream not moving from sleep, so all sounds now are not other than the state of awareness. Awareness is unutterable, equal to space, pure. As it says in the Sixth Space: "The words of the basis of similarity of the two truths, In the minds of us, Are understood as words like a dream." Thus it is. Since memory and awareness have not moved from the mind of enlightenment, in meaning, memory and thought have no basis, are free from the root, that is, appearing as memory and awareness.

What is shown as never having existed, no matter how you think, think within your own nature; no matter how you examine, examine within your own nature. Bodhicitta has no thought or examination at all; being free from thought and examination is the mind of the Buddhas of the three times. Appearing as awareness, in reality, there has never been awareness; like thoughts in a dream, grasping at non-existence as existence, therefore it is said that sentient beings act in delusion. In reality, the nature of awareness has never moved, and awareness is beyond the realm of thoughts, it is non-conceptual wisdom; the minds of the Buddhas abide free from the extremes of thought. As it is said in the 'Ornamental Jewel Arrangement': 'The mind of the Buddha is free from the extremes of self-grasping, it is inconceivable wisdom.' Yogis realize this meaning, and in their own minds, they realize the primordial Buddha as vast and empty, and the illusory appearances of samsara vanish. As it is said in the 'Six Spaces': 'Born from non-conceptual wisdom, with the oral instructions that are not sought, the primordial Buddha who has always existed is found. At that time, the appearances of delusion all cease, and all phenomena are exhausted as signs of purity. Because this is exhausted, samsara is empty.' Thus, appearances, sounds, and all thoughts are not separate from the nature of awareness. Similarly, the three bodies and pure lands are shown to be solely self-aware. Appearing from nothing is the Nirmanakaya; enjoying oneself is the Sambhogakaya; because it has no substance, it is the Dharmakaya; the result is the realm where the three bodies are spontaneously accomplished. The essence of awareness is beyond expression, so there is no basis for establishing things and signs; this is the Dharmakaya. Having realized emptiness, awareness uses itself spontaneously in that nature, abiding in its own place, the basis of self-illumination without interruption is the Sambhogakaya. From clarity and purity, the uninterrupted aspect of the arising of compassion is the Nirmanakaya. Thus, the three bodies are not separate from awareness, it is self-born wisdom. As it is said in the 'Secret of Illusion': 'The wondrous body and the Buddha's pure lands are not separate from the nature of self-born wisdom.' Thus, samsara and nirvana are not separate from one awareness; if one awareness is liberated, then samsara and nirvana are both liberated; this is an extremely profound key point. Those five ways of liberation are also spoken of in the 'Garland of Pearls', with essence and examples.
