When reaching the peak, by practicing without straying from the state where the appearances of inner and outer causes dissolve into the nature of reality, the thoughts of affirmation and negation, and afflictions, are self-purified and self-exhausted. Experiences arise spontaneously without bias, and openly like the sky without clinging. Finally, when the experiences of change are exhausted and one arrives at the ground of original awareness, the direct appearance of the nature of reality arises manifestly. One abides nakedly in one's own place in the original purity. At this time, it is called abandoning the Dharma, exhausting the Dharma, and transcending the Dharma, because there is no accomplishment in anything. However, miraculous powers and clairvoyance are accomplished, one gains control over the elements, and ten signs appear that the elements cannot harm: the earth cannot crush, the water cannot carry away, the fire cannot burn, the wind cannot move, one walks in the sky like a bird, one can transform objects and move distant mountain houses, etc. Various interdependent events arise, benefiting sentient beings. One sees the atoms of the body, obtains the divine eye and clairvoyance, and accomplishes the eye and miraculous powers. Better than piling up jewels, leaving it unattached in its own place, the meaning of this mind, all words, without being taught by anyone, seem to be understood in each individual's mind. Understanding this in one's own mind, through the absence of invisible thoughts, all appearances are self-purified, and everything is transformed into the nature of the great empty-clear. The four elements of earth, water, fire, and wind, their respective powers become invisible, and they float in the sky like mist. The clinging to various delusions, no matter how one thinks, does not arise, the parts of grasping and being grasped are self-extinguished, whatever does not appear is self-exhausted, and through the experience of the self-illuminating, all sentient beings go likewise. Thus it is said. The intermediate liberation like the sky in a vase is that, through such familiarization, at the time of death, the body is like a vase and the mind is like the sky inside the vase. In the moment of separation, the self-awareness of the Dharmakaya of original purity merges with the Dharmakaya of the ground, the great sky, without any difference, or awareness alone goes nakedly, becoming enlightened without difference from all dharmata. Just as when a vase breaks, the sky is not differentiated, self-awareness is unobstructed without difference between before and after, the Dharmakaya secures its own ground, and the Rupakaya with its activities arises spontaneously, like the planets and stars naturally appearing in the sky. In the union of the sun and moon.
