In the vast expanse without inner or outer, the nature of vastness is boundless and without substance. This supreme Dzogchen view, the secret union, although extremely numerous in the context of vehicles, the definitive meaning of the secret is only one in its nature. The sphere of Dharma-nature is vast and without characteristics. Thus it is said. Now, at the time of realizing that both grasping and the grasped have never existed, as the nature of space, in order for all phenomena to appear to the yogi as a great liberation without reliance, as a sign of the purification of inner clinging, the outer grasped is shown to be liberated in all directions as follows: When looking outward at the field of appearances, everything is loose, empty, and without substance. Rari, zab zeb, without attachment, free from Dharma. Appearances, sounds, memory, awareness, feelings, and sensations are no longer the same as before. What is this? Is it an appearance of naturally occurring madness? Laughing to oneself in a dream. Here, because the time of one's own realization is certain, the appearances of all yogis can be understood, just as one who is skilled in causes sees the spectacle of illusion as unreal, and thus also understands the appearances of others who know causes. These appearances of outer objects, which were previously seen as self-characteristics, when the clinging to reality in one's own nature is reversed at the time of realization, one thinks that all grasped objects are like dreams, water moons, and mirages, loose, empty, and without substance. Whatever appears, it all arises as a self-appearance without reliance, like rari, zab zeb, seeming to exist or not exist. Beings also feel that their behavior has changed from before, seeming to be without reliance. Do all of these also understand this? One wonders. Experiences, hearing, memory, and awareness also disappear as before, and emptiness becomes a state of non-reliance. Awareness is widely spread, and thoughts never arise. Where has this gone? One wonders, and in the places where feelings arise, one's own nature is purified, but awareness is scattered. Sometimes one laughs at one's own actions and all appearances and sounds becoming a state of non-reliance, and one wonders if one is crazy, or if others are crazy, or if it is the bardo or a dream. Thus one knows. The awareness that arises nakedly without reliance is present in all beings. What difficulty is there in realization? One thinks. Compassion without an object arises nakedly, and one also shows this to others, manifesting the vajra song and the behavior of non-reliance and the awareness without attachment.

And, all appearances that appear as clear and transparent, arise at the same time. At this time, the Dharmakaya of self-liberation of grasping and grasper arises from within, therefore it is called the purification of the object of clinging to self. As it is said in the "Garland of Pearls": For all phenomena that appear as self-nature, impurity is absent, therefore coarse and subtle are liberated. Grasping and grasper are absent, therefore delusion is liberated. Movement is absent, therefore karmic winds are liberated. Clear and transparent, therefore things are liberated. Clear, therefore emptiness is liberated. Primordially complete, therefore the generation stage is liberated. Effort is absent, therefore conduct is liberated. Not sought, but abiding, therefore meditation is liberated. Self-liberated, therefore appearances are liberated. Manifest, therefore view is liberated. Words are absent, therefore terms are liberated. Never existed, therefore clinging is liberated. Never been non-existent, therefore dependence on others is liberated. Cannot be grasped, therefore conceptualization is liberated. Only one, therefore numerical limits are liberated. And as it is said in the "Six Spaces": In the mind-essence where the six aggregates appear, the aggregates of thoughts are liberated in their own place. In the mind-essence where sounds and words appear, terms and names are liberated in their own place. In the mind-essence where grossness appears, the conditions of the four elements are liberated in their own place. In the mind-essence where grasping and grasper appear, the self-grasping of bondage is liberated in its own place. In the mind-essence where existence appears, the aspects of things are liberated in their own place. In the mind-essence where non-existence appears, emptinesses are liberated in their own place. In the mind-essence of existence and non-existence, the extremes of established views are liberated in their own place. In the mind-essence where Dharma appears, its own characteristics are liberated in their own place. In the mind-essence where non-Dharma appears, delusions are liberated in their own place. In the mind-essence where antidotes appear, defilements are liberated in their own place. In the mind-essence of natural abiding, the great ground is liberated in its own place. Thus, the appearance of unreliance arising from realization is further explained: Free from the notions of enemy and friend, attachment and aversion, near and far, day and night are indistinguishable, equal in one taste, the cycle of clinging to objects and signs is purified. The state of self-born wisdom is non-conceptual, transcending the confines of acceptance and rejection, abandonment and remedy. Such realization is non-dual wisdom, having reached the intention of self-born Samantabhadra, having reached the place of no return, having reached the end. At this time, realization merges with day and night, appearing as a vast expanse. Not disliking enemies, not clinging to distance, therefore the nocturnal thoughts are purified into Dharmata; liking friends, not clinging to closeness, therefore the daytime
