Oh, the lotus of wisdom blooms, transforming into the realm of words. Thus, when the unobstructed appearance of what is to be said and the manner of saying it expands like the ocean, the yoga of the Vajra Essence of Clear Light is accomplished. The time for selfless activity is certain, meaning the opportunity is as vast as the sky. It is good to write down one's own realization as it is, which will accomplish benefit for future generations. The accomplishment of the unequaled supreme Vajra Samantabhadra, the second Buddha, will not decline and will be compiled. Moreover, the meaning of this place is profound and difficult for ordinary people to understand. This meaning is shown without being mixed with common realms, so the teachings of the Vajra Essence, the pinnacle of the Great Vehicle, will long remain in the world. Furthermore, the meanings of the tantras and instructions are numerous, making it impossible to gather them in one place. For beings who cannot gather them, seeing this will easily allow them to understand all realms. Therefore, this treatise is explained. To avoid being accused of self-creation and arbitrariness, it is made convincing by the evidence of the teachings, that is, it is arranged in accordance with the three sections of Mind, Space, and Instruction, and combined with their scriptural authorities. Those who are not skilled in the lineage of the scriptures, how can they have power over the Vajra realm? It is like a blind person having no opportunity or meaning to distinguish the forms of things. As it is said in the Ornament of the Sutras: A spiritual friend is tamed, peaceful, and extremely peaceful, Possessing qualities, diligent, and especially rich in scriptures, Skilled in speaking, understanding that truth, With loving-kindness, abandoning weariness, one should rely on him. The variegated expanse has three: the variegated expanse that accords with the mind division that asserts existence, the variegated expanse that accords with the self-essence that asserts non-existence, and the variegated expanse that accords with the pith instructions of existence and non-existence, thus gathering into nine expanses. The all-encompassing expanse is not explained separately because it gathers into the bond of all.
