Without retracting the senses, nor moving the eyes, Without thinking of oneself, nor discriminating others, Rest naturally in vast, expansive openness. A mind free from expansion, praise, distraction, and contraction, In the intention of all-encompassing, self-arisen wisdom, The experience of inner, outer, and in-between merging with the sky, A clear, blissful, and non-elaborate samadhi arises. In the unwavering foundation, the intention of equality, There is no inner or outer, free from the elaboration of grasping and being grasped. Since there is no mind attached to otherness as "object," There is no object to be grasped, the appearance of vessel and essence is free from attachment. There is no place to be born in samsara, like the sky. Without inwardly conceiving of oneself as "self," There is no subject to be grasped, the conceptualization of existence is pacified, The root of the one who is born in samsara is severed. At that time, like the sky, the phenomena of inner and outer delusion, Are not perceived at all, reaching the intention of the Dharmakaya. Reaching the point of exhaustion, without going or coming, Everything is the expanse of the field of Samantabhadra, It is reaching the supreme palace of the Dharmakaya. If the present awareness does not move from its base, That very habit empties the existence of future lives, Free from karma and imprints that take rebirth, It is said that cause and effect are not confused, samsara and nirvana are equal. Not abiding in existence or peace, reaching the heart of enlightenment. Here, too, it is precious to cultivate the union of calm abiding and insight, It is the intention of the Great Perfection of self-nature. If it moves from its natural state, it is the very cycle of mental activity, In that, cause and effect are self-made, self-experienced. The confused beings go from lower to lower. Therefore, the supreme secret Great Perfection, Is not moving from the Dharmadhatu, all activities return to the base, The intention does not waver, abiding in equality. In this state, there is no cause, effect, action, or effort, And so on, there is no view or meditation, It speaks of the way of negation, without beginning, end, or middle, Otherwise, wandering outward from the natural state, it is only activity, Various plays appear, the nine realms of existence, Therefore, never say that there is no cause and effect. Interdependence, arising from conditions, compounded things, are beyond calculation, The deluded appearances of samsara, peace and happiness, are also beyond calculation, All of them are the interdependence of the gathering of causes and conditions. If measured by nature, it is as if nothing is established, Practicing on the path, when the nature does not move, Nothing is fixated upon, it is counted in the state of intention, When the nature is perfected, nothing is stained. This vast expanse of afflictions, karma, and imprints, Is the play of illusion conjured without a basis.

Do not! To be liberated from this, cause and effect need to be repeated. There is no other superior method than this. Therefore, do not waver the intention of Dharmadhatu. This is the secret word from the depths of my heart. Transcending all existence, non-existence, both existence and non-existence is most precious. From the Treasury of Dharmadhatu, Chapter Ten: Showing Non-deviation from the Intention of Dharmata. All things are one with the mind of Bodhi, equal to space. By grasping at duality, cause and effect are confused in samsara. Confused appearances, rootless illusory appearances, without any trace of encounter, are free from calculation. When the unwanted descends, the mind to be discarded, anger and displeasure, jealousy, strife and scolding, weariness and discouragement, sickness, the mind of suffering, fear of death and birth, etc., when they arise as play from the essence, recognize their nature, do not abandon, do not purify, do not transform, do not take, do not look, do not meditate, abide in the natural state, spontaneously, free from attachment and withdrawal. The mind of vast space, without trace, self-dissolving, clear and pure, arises from within with essence. Awareness beyond existence and non-existence, in a directionless place, appearances without attachment, in the manner of encounter, in the state of non-grasping, abide in self-nature, negation and affirmation without liberation, vanish without trace. Experiences without grasping arise from within. Know this as it is, the mind realm is originally vast. Likewise, the mind that desires and delights in, accomplished bliss, relatives and sweet words, enjoyment, and places and directions that are pleasing to the mind, when the mind adorned with natural joy arises, recognize its nature, abide in self-nature, spontaneously accomplished in the primordial realm, without fabrication. The intermediate state of self-nature, abiding in movement, stillness, trembling, whatever arises, whether joy or displeasure, when it arises, recognize its nature, without acceptance or rejection, the natural state of Dharmata, without distinction, is called liberation into the great luminosity of ignorance. Even when intoxicated by sleep at night, etc., in the natural state, sleeping without attachment or withdrawal, the coarse appearances subside, so grasping subsides. Subtle, extremely subtle, subsiding together with grasping, in the state of equanimity and non-thought, the mind of awareness, free from hope and fear, abides in self-nature. This is the time when conceptualization is liberated in Dharmadhatu, therefore it is said that samsara and nirvana are liberated. Sleep is also the spontaneously arising primordial realm.
