In the mandala of self-purified lineage, one practices the four stages of approach and accomplishment. The great bliss of Ati Yoga is the Bodhicitta that transcends effort and practice. Effort and practice are obscured by transcendence. It is said that practicing Dzogchen with effort and practice is straying into Maha Yoga. Anu Yoga desires non-duality, and after entering the gate of Dharmadhatu and wisdom, for all phenomena that appear in this way, one sees the cause as the pure Dharmadhatu and the result as the mandala of wisdom. The great bliss of Ati Yoga is the Bodhicitta that transcends cause and effect. Cause and effect are obscured by Anu. If Dzogchen views cause and effect as two, it is said to stray into Anu Yoga. Thus it is said. The essence of the Great Perfection, the luminous Dharmadhatu, is self-arisen wisdom. Because there is no cause, effect, or condition of what is to be produced and what produces it, it exists from the beginning in a nature like the sky. In the Kunje Gyalpo Tantra, it says, "As it was before, so it is later, it is the unchanging nature of Dharma." And it is also shown by "Uncompounded and spontaneously accomplished." The ultimate truth is the Dharmadhatu, luminosity, unchanging, emptiness like the sky, not belonging to any Dharma of change and purity or impurity. Appearing and clear, spontaneously accomplished, so it is not annihilation, like the orb of the sun and moon. Because there is no cause and effect in essence, it does not belong to either Samsara or Nirvana. Because it is the basis of planning for anything, it is understood as Dharmadhatu, or the place or basis where all Dharmas arise, that itself is the ground. The lower vehicles, with their efforts of practice, of acceptance and rejection, are thereby misled and obscured. Therefore, if one says that the ground is taken as the path, since the ground is not transformed and not made into a mere object, the ground has not become the path, and the ground and the path are contradictory. Therefore, there is no time to obtain the result, because the very nature of mind, like the sky, does not need to be transformed, and this itself is defiled. As it is said in the Kunje Gyalpo Tantra: "O great hero! The view and conduct of the Great Perfection are different from the practice of cause and effect. This view and conduct of Bodhicitta is the nature of the sky. The sky is beyond thought. Whoever thinks, does not accomplish enlightenment like the sky. For the nature of the view and conduct of the sky, whoever grasps the grasper and the grasped, the sky

Thereby, enlightenment cannot be achieved. If the duality of grasper and grasped arises, it is a mistaken obscuration. If the two aspects of view and conduct arise, just as space cannot be divided into two, there is no duality in enlightenment. If someone clings to duality, then that enlightenment-space cannot be achieved. The arising of view and conduct as two is a mistaken obscuration. The nature of enlightenment is like space; in space, there is no acceptance or rejection. If someone engages in acceptance and rejection, then that enlightenment-space cannot be achieved. Acceptance and rejection are mistaken obscurations. The nature of enlightenment is like space; in space, there is no effort or accomplishment. If someone makes effort and accomplishes, that enlightenment-space cannot be achieved. Effort and accomplishment are mistaken obscurations. The nature of enlightenment is like space; in space, there are no causes and effects. If someone views in terms of cause and effect, then that enlightenment-space cannot be achieved. Viewing in terms of cause and effect is a mistaken obscuration. Thus it is said. Moreover, in the ultimate truth of the essence, which is pure by its very nature, there are no causes and effects. However, all conditioned phenomena, such as impure samsara and the path, are generated by causes and effects and are destroyed by conditions. Therefore, it is shown that the meaning of relying on causes and effects is important. Moreover, concerning all the teachings that involve accepting and rejecting causes and conditions, especially the ten aspects of the nature of outer and inner mantras, it is shown that there is no alteration in the true meaning. That is, within them: there is no meditation on the view, no need to keep vows, no need to purify the ground, no need to travel the path, no need to seek activities, no need to bestow empowerments, no need to exert effort in the three doors, no need to create mandalas. Like cause and effect being non-dual, like space. It is said. The mind of enlightenment is primordially without error. It is primordially as it is, and primordially without error. Since there is no error, there is no attachment to the fabrications of truth and falsehood. Cause, condition, result, effort, and accomplishment are all beyond everything. If, due to ignorance, one clings to what is already done, effort, and what has passed, if one looks to achieve through effort, action, and meditation, then there is no greater obstacle to enlightenment than that. Thus it is said. Then, if one does not wish to purify the defilements of the realms through the path of acceptance and rejection and achieve Buddhahood, what should one do? If one thinks, what is the difference between this and an ordinary person? The Great Perfection of self-arisen wisdom itself, from the beginning, possesses the great qualities of Buddhahood, spontaneously accomplished. Since the three bodies are inherently complete, there is no need to seek them elsewhere. Therefore, by remaining unmoving in this unaltered, natural state, one achieves.
