All obscurations will surely be liberated. Thus it is said. The term "co-emergent" refers to the samadhi that does not waver from the Dharmakaya for one's own benefit. From that state, the activity of benefiting others arises, which is called subsequent attainment. As stated in the Uttaratantra: "That which is free from the two obscurations, its cause is the two wisdoms, non-conceptual and its subsequent attainment is considered wisdom." Although this is said with regard to the superficial aspect, it is always unwavering from samadhi. As stated in the Ratnagotravibhāga: "Even when an elephant is sitting, it is in samadhi. Even when an elephant is sleeping, it is in samadhi. Even when an elephant is dreaming, it is in samadhi." Thus it is established. Second, refuting objections is divided into two points: If it is said that since the object of knowing as it is, the nature of reality, does not exist, therefore the wisdom that sees it cannot exist, because the Vajracchedika states: "The nature of reality is not an object of knowledge, it cannot be known." The answer is: Although the nature of reality is not an object of knowledge established by its own essence, therefore it is said that way, but it is inexpressible, inconceivable, and free from extremes, and it is the object of the wisdom that is self-aware by each individual, therefore it is knowable. As Rāhula praised the Mother Prajñāpāramitā: "Speech and thought are cut off, Prajñāpāramitā, unborn, unceasing, the nature of space itself, the object of the wisdom of self-awareness, to the mother of the Buddhas of the three times, I prostrate." Thus it is said. If it is said that since the object of the wisdom of knowing as it is, the impure self-character does not exist, therefore the wisdom that sees it cannot exist. The answer is: Although there is no truth, there is falsehood, therefore it is knowable. If it is said that since the limits of knowable objects, the number of sentient beings, and the beginning and end of samsara do not exist, therefore the wisdom that sees them cannot exist. The answer is: For knowable objects, it is acknowledged that the Buddha knows them. Those that do not exist are not knowable objects, therefore they are not seen, just like a rabbit's horn. Moreover, in the commentary on the Uttaratantra, it is said: "Although without beginning, it has an end." Thus it is said, when those who have attained complete purity, their subsequent afflictions are purified, and they are well known. Third, the activity of benefiting beings is that from the nature of the Sambhogakaya, the Nirmanakaya benefits beings, and as long as samsara exists, it continues without interruption, arising as desired. As stated in the Abhisamayalankara: "Thus, as long as samsara exists, this activity is said to be continuous."

From the Uttaratantra: Due to arising renunciation by the power of others, and viewing self and sentient beings equally, since the deeds are not completely perfected, as long as samsara exists, the deeds will not cease. As such, it means knowing the faculties of sentient beings, and by what to tame them, the means of activities, and teaching at the right time, without any mistakes, and doing beneficial deeds. That very text says: The faculties of those to be tamed and the means of taming, the activities to be done by the faculties of those to be tamed, and going to their places and times, the pervasive lord constantly accomplishes spontaneously. So it is said. How does it spontaneously accomplish? It should be understood by nine examples, that very text says: Whoever is like Indra's drum and clouds, like Brahma, the sun, jewels, the wish-fulfilling jewel king, like echoes, the sky, and the earth, until the end of existence, effortlessly accomplishing the benefit of others, that is the family of yogis. Like a jewel, the lord of gods appears and shows, teaching well is like the drum of the gods. The pervasive lord's wisdom and great compassion are like clouds, boundless beings pervading up to the peak of existence. Like Brahma, without moving from the uncontaminated state, he manifests various kinds of emanations. Like the sun, the light of wisdom radiates greatly, a pure jewel like the wish-fulfilling jewel's heart. The speech of the Buddhas is, like a mountain echo, without letters. The body is like the sky, pervasive and without form, it is the nature of permanence. Like the earth, purifying the white beings, the medicine of all dharmas, the basis of all aspects. It is the earth of the Buddha. So it is said. Thus, the spontaneously accomplished activity, in whatever realm of beings there is opportunity, enters all at once like the sun. That very text says: Because the disciples are pure, in all the vessels of water, the image of the Sugata sun, countless ones appear all at once. So it is said. That also follows the inclinations of those to be tamed, that very text says: Just as on a pure ground of lapis lazuli, the image of the body of the lord of gods appears, so on the pure ground of the minds of beings, the image of the body of the Sage's lord appears. The image appears in beings, able to be without defilement, with the defiled mind itself, it enters by the power of great absorption. So it is said. Thus, the activity of appearance, such as the Buddha teaching the Dharma, is also the self of those to be tamed.
