In the two, the Supreme Dharma and the Most Supreme Dharma, one cultivates the five powers. That is, from the aspect of the ability to destroy afflictions being particularly enhanced, it is called power. The method of cultivation is in accordance with the faculties. The method of cultivating the aspects of the Four Truths is as follows, from that very text (Abhisamayalankara): From that (the five faculties) also arises forbearance. 'Likewise, the two,' refers to the four aspects of suffering in the desire realm temporarily. The aspects of suffering in the two upper realms (form and formless realms) are grouped together, and added to the four, making eight. Similarly, with the three—origin, cessation, and path—each having eight, the method of cultivating thirty-two aspects in total. Or, adding together the seven parts between the heat, peak, and small forbearance, counting them, there are two hundred and twenty-four aspects. In the intermediate forbearance, from the thirty-two, having abandoned the four of the path, one cultivates twenty-eight. Then, having abandoned the four of the path of the desire realm, one cultivates twenty-four. Again, having abandoned the four of the cessation of the two upper realms, one cultivates twenty. Then, having abandoned the four of the cessation of the desire realm, one cultivates sixteen. Again, having abandoned the four of the origin of the two upper realms, one cultivates twelve. Then, having abandoned the four of the origin of the desire realm, one cultivates eight. Again, having abandoned the four of the suffering of the two upper realms, one cultivates four. Thus, when cultivating the four aspects of suffering in the desire realm, there are two types of individuals: those who are predominantly attached and those who are predominantly opinionated. The first is to abandon any one of the cessation or path truths of the four truths of the desire realm, and cultivate three. Then, abandoning the last two, one cultivates the two, suffering and origin. For this, there are two types of decline: decline due to pride, thinking 'I am,' and decline due to laziness, clinging to indifference. The former cultivates the aspect of impermanence twice, and the intermediate forbearance is completed. Thus, in the stage of intermediate forbearance, excluding those that were abandoned, counting those that remain to be cultivated, one arrives at one hundred and nineteen, as it says in the

Abandoning any one of them, meditate on the remaining three. Then, abandoning the first two, meditate on the last two. Among those two, if the clinging to the view of self is stronger, meditate on the aspect of emptiness twice, thus completing the intermediate forbearance. If the clinging to the view of self is stronger, meditate on the aspect of selflessness twice, thus completing the intermediate forbearance. Similarly, the great forbearance and the supreme dharma are the same as before. Thus, after the completion of the path of joining, the sixteen moments of the path of seeing arise in sequence. Among them, the first fifteen are the path of seeing, as stated in the Abhidharmakośa: "In this, the fifteen moments are the path of seeing, because one sees what was not seen before." The sixteenth is both the path of meditation and the antidote to severing the abandonments of the path of seeing. The abandonments of the path of seeing are all the conceptually imputed objects to be abandoned on the path of seeing. If divided in terms of their essence, there are six, as stated in the Abhidharmakośa: "The root of existence is subtle, six in number: desire, anger, pride, ignorance, view, and doubt. These are the six." If divided in terms of object, realm, and the manner of wrong engagement, the Śrāvakā-Vaiśeṣikas focus on the four truths. In the three realms, they engage wrongly in the order of ten: the five views and the five non-views. The five views are: the view of the aggregates as self (འཇིག་ཚོགས་ཀྱི་ལྟ་བ།, Sākāyadṛṣṭi, साकायदृष्टि, the view that the body composed of the five aggregates is the self or belongs to the self), the view of extremes (མཐར་འཛིན་པའི་ལྟ་བ།, Antagrahadṛṣṭi, अन्तग्राहदृष्टि, the view that clings to the extremes of permanence and annihilation), wrong view (ལོག་པར་ལྟ་བ།, Mithyādṛṣṭi, मिथ्यादृष्टि, the view that denies cause and effect and karmic retribution), the view of holding views as supreme (ལྟ་བ་ལ་མཆོག་ཏུ་འཛིན་པའི་ལྟ་བ།, Dṛṣṭiparāmarśa, दृष्टिपरामर्श, the view that one's own view is the best view), and the view of holding ethical conduct and asceticism as supreme (ཚུལ་ཁྲིམས་དང་བརྟུལ་ཞུགས་ལ་མཆོག་ཏུ་འཛིན་པའི་ལྟ་བ།, Śīlavrataparāmarśa, शीलव्रतपरामर्श, the view that holding vows and practicing asceticism are the best). The five non-views are: desire (འདོད་ཆགས།, rāga, राग, attachment to favorable conditions), anger (ཁོང་ཁྲོ།, dveṣa, द्वेष, hatred towards unfavorable conditions), pride (ང་རྒྱལ།, māna, मान, arrogance and self-conceit), ignorance (མ་རིག་པ།, avidyā, अविद्या, delusion about the true nature of things), and doubt (ཐེ་ཚོམ།, vicikitsā, विचिकित्सा, indecisiveness). How do they engage? As stated in the Abhidharmakośa: "Those ten and seven, seven eight, except three views two." That is, except for the first two and the last of the three views, the others engage. "Two" means that the first two do not engage, but the others do, so there are thirty-two in the desire realm. In the two upper realms, because there is no anger, there are twenty-eight aspects that focus on the four truths. Adding them together, it is considered that there are eighty-eight abandonments of the path of seeing. Among them, focusing on the aspect of suffering in the desire realm, there are ten ways of wrong engagement, with five ways of actual engagement and five ways of engagement due to wrong engagement. The first is the view of the aggregates as self, which grasps the truth of suffering as "self" and "belonging to self." The view of extremes clings to existence and non-existence, permanence and annihilation. Wrong view considers that there is no.
