That is the nature of the conventional. Furthermore, those who assert entities say that there are two kinds of ultimate truth: the other-powered ultimate truth and the thoroughly established ultimate truth. However, the Madhyamikas, because they refute one-sided elaboration, and because of the similarity of refuting, they designate the distinction of the unoriginated conventional truth, which is the refutation of arising, as the ultimate truth, and divide it into the nominal ultimate truth. Since it is not established anywhere in its essence, if it is the ultimate truth, then they divide only the aspect that transcends all elaborations into the non-nominal ultimate truth. They say that it is not possible to have the characteristic of dividing into the ultimate truth that is free from all elaborations. If you ask, "Among the five bases of knowable objects, such as form, what is the basis that is represented by the two truths?" The basis that represents the ultimate truth is the unconditioned. That is, the two cessations and space are negations that depend on what is to be negated, so they are beyond investigation and therefore cannot be the ultimate truth; only suchness is. The basis of the conventional truth is to be understood as all knowable objects that have not realized the unbornness of suchness. Some Madhyamikas who hold to the side of the conventional truth speak in accordance with the Vaibhashikas, saying that the simultaneous grasping and the object of grasping are the cause of closely gathering entities, arising from the previous collection. Some are Madhyamikas who follow the Sutra school, and they acknowledge that although the external object itself does not actually appear in consciousness, it entrusts its own aspect to consciousness by means of its meaning. They say that when consciousness arises in an aspect similar to the object, it cognizes the object, and the grasping and the grasped, which are the objects of observation, exist conventionally in different times. Some say that in the conventional truth of the Yogachara Madhyamikas, everything that appears in consciousness is the entity of consciousness, and there is no external object. They speak in accordance with the aspectarians. Some say that just as the objects that appear in dreams, and the appearance of hair-nets and double moons that appear even when awake, and general meanings, etc., are not entities of both object and consciousness, so too for worldly people,

The so-called famous mountains, houses, men, women, bottles, blankets, and so on, both the external objects and the objects of knowledge are empty. From beginningless time, due to the habits of ignorance, non-existent things appear, merely illusions. Therefore, the entities that exist in conventional truth are limited to the mind and mental events, such as clear appearances of happiness. Although there are various ways of explaining it, like the Vaibhashika school of the Shravakas, they believe that gross objects are formed from the aggregation of atoms, and they deny the self-awareness of mind and mental events. Although there are some differences, in essence, they do not accept appearances as consciousness, and they are similar in some aspects, such as arising from their own prior causes. Although they do not accept self-awareness as the Mind-Only school does, they do accept a mere awareness that does not distinguish between existence and non-existence. As the commentary states, "By the wisdom of each individual's self-awareness." There are two kinds of valid cognition for determining: The valid cognition for determining conventional truth is that for phenomena that arise dependently, such as forms, the knowledge of reasoning that follows arguments such as being separate from one and many, is used to infer and examine. By the force of negating real entities that can be examined, it is determined as objects of knowledge that cannot be examined, thereby determining their nature. The valid cognition for determining ultimate truth is that after obtaining a valid cognizer who determines what is to be measured by reasoning that examines the ultimate examinable, it is realized by the non-conceptual wisdom of each individual's self-awareness. However, ordinary beings determine it through reasoning knowledge that follows arguments, that is, inference. That is, by abandoning the specific characteristics of the subject of phenomena, and taking the general category of phenomena as the basis, it is determined by manifest or inferential valid cognition that enters into one aspect of appearance. Therefore, when the real entity is negated from the mere category of phenomena, and emptiness, free from elaboration, and the object to be measured by the ultimate examining reason are determined, then the differences of the category, that is, the imputation on all the differences of phenomena such as form and happiness, are cut off. Because they realize that these are pervasive of emptiness, and they do not abandon the realization of the mere entity itself.
