Unborn by anyone, hidden from even the sage Kapila (literally: Drinker of Light), possessing five special qualities. The main factor of the transformed result is the nature of the three guṇas (藏文,梵文天城体,गुण,梵文罗马拟音,guṇa,汉语字面意思: गुण ), and because it is not balanced, it is a substance that manifests in many temporary impermanent states. If divided, there are twenty-three, the first of which is the great, buddhi (藏文,梵文天城体,बुद्धि,梵文罗马拟音,buddhi,汉语字面意思: बुद्धि ), the inner agent, called the nature of clear wisdom and awareness, like a double-sided mirror. It holds the five external objects such as form, and internally has the aspect or form of awareness of pleasure, pain, and equanimity. The second is possessing a share of self, from which arises the ego that presumes itself to be unique. If distinguished, there are three types of ego: that arising from atoms, that arising from elements, and that arising from transformation, but all are counted as one ego. That is, the first ego generates eleven senses: the five buddhi (藏文,梵文天城体,बुद्धि,梵文罗马拟音,buddhi,汉语字面意思: बुद्धि ) senses of ear, nose, tongue, body, and eye, and the five karma (藏文,梵文天城体,कर्म,梵文罗马拟音,karma,汉语字面意思: कर्म ) senses of mouth, hand, foot, genitals, and anus, and the eleventh sense, which is both—mind. The second ego generates the five: sound, smell, taste, touch, and color. From these, the five elements arise in order: Space. Earth. Water. Wind. Fire, these five. That is, sound is a guṇa (藏文,梵文天城体,गुण,梵文罗马拟音,guṇa,汉语字面意思: गुण ) of space, and so on. The third ego is the companion or helper of the previous two. It does not produce separate fruits. These meanings are stated in the treatise of Black Isvara: From nature arises mahān (藏文,梵文天城体,महान्,梵文罗马拟音,mahān,汉语字面意思: महान् ), from mahān (藏文,梵文天城体,महान्,梵文罗马拟音,mahān,汉语字面意思: महान् ) arises ego. From ego arise the sixteen samūhas The sixteen also arise from those, and from the senses arise the five great elements. Thus, of the twenty-four, their nature is the ultimate truth, and the twenty-three transformations are considered the conventional truth. The best of the guṇas (藏文,梵文天城体,गुण,梵文罗马拟音,guṇa,汉语字面意思: गुण ) of the three guṇas (藏文,梵文天城体,गुण,梵文罗马拟音,guṇa,汉语字面意思: गुण ) is śreṣṭha (藏文,梵文天城体,श्रेष्ठ,梵文罗马拟音,śreṣṭha,汉语字面意思: श्रेष्ठ ), which does not become the path of seeing. Whatever becomes the path of seeing is very false, like an illusion. These are the twenty-four main substances. The self and the twenty-five are included in the two truths of knowable things, and are the meaning to be understood. There are two ways to understand these: To understand the way of generating cause and effect, and to understand the way the person enjoys the main factor.

Firstly, Prakriti (nature) is only the cause. Mahat (intellect), Ahamkara (ego), and the five Tanmatras (subtle elements) are the seven causes. The eleven organs and the five elements are considered only the sixteen effects. Purusha (self) is considered neither cause nor effect. Pradhana (primordial matter) is the agent, not the action." "The seven, beginning with Mahat, are both action and agent." "The sixteen are only action. Purusha is neither action nor agent." Thus it is. The manner of arising is from nature alone, therefore, cause and effect are considered one entity. The method of production is merely making manifest what already exists; it is not considered a completely new creation from nothing. The manner of destruction is also a temporary pacification or manifestation until the end of the kalpa (aeon); it is not considered the impermanence of the complete destruction of nature. The way Purusha enjoys Pradhana is that indistinct pleasure, etc., exists in the nature of Pradhana. The distinct ones are of three kinds: pleasure, etc., of external sounds, etc.; pleasure, etc., of the nature of mind; and pleasure, etc., of the reflection of objects appearing on it. The intelligence enjoys these." "The way of enjoyment is that on one side of the mind's mirror facing outward, the reflections of objects such as sounds appear, and on the side facing inward, the reflection of intelligence appears. It is considered that the mixture of the two is the meaning of enjoyment. What appears in the mind is known by Purusha." As it is said: "Just as milk, though without mind, is the cause of the calf's growth," "Likewise, Pradhana causes the growth of Purusha, and should become its cause." Thus it is said. And: "In order for Purusha to enjoy, Pradhana diligently enters, in order for the spectators to be accomplished, it performs a dance." Thus it is. The fault of not understanding such a meaning is that one clings to the nature of Pradhana and the temporary changing phenomena as the image of self and clings to it as change. Therefore, one is reversed and wanders in samsara. As it is said: "The qualities from the activity of nature are obscured by darkness, so the ignorant mind thinks, 'I have done it,' but there is no power to move." Thus it is said. And: "This Purusha is truly," "The nature of pure awareness," "If one does not know that nature, one wanders in samsara forever in ignorance." Thus it is said." "That also
