Regarding the first of the three Saṃskāras (འདུ་བྱེད་, Saṃskāra, saṃskāra, formations), there are two aspects: definition and classification. Firstly, the definition has been discussed earlier. Secondly, the classification includes the three types of feelings (ཚོར་བ་, Vedanā, vedanā, feeling): pleasure, pain, and indifference. Regarding the second, the definition has been discussed earlier. In terms of classification, there are two ways to classify: one is to divide it into the three types such as inverted perceptions (ཕྱིན་ཅི་ལོག་གི་འདུ་ཤེས་), and the other is to divide it into the three types such as distracted perceptions (གཡེང་ལྡན་གྱི་འདུ་ཤེས་). Regarding the third, there are two aspects: definition and classification. Firstly, the definition is: the substantial formation, through the power of the three doors of body, speech, and mind, whichever it may be, can produce its respective result, which is any of the three: virtuous, non-virtuous, or neutral. It is established from the perspective of producing these results, and that is the definition of Saṃskāra. For example, the physical act of prostration is an illustration. Secondly, the classification includes the three types of body, speech, and mind. Regarding the second, it is divided into the classification of imputed dharmas and the determination of examples. Firstly, regarding imputed dharmas, there are three types: imputation on the basis of place, imputation on the basis of time, and imputation on the basis of essence. Firstly, imputation on the basis of place: any functional entity that does not have an independent substance of its own, but relies on the object appearing as the basis of imputation, and is established from the perspective of establishing its own identity, that is the definition of imputation on the basis of place in this context. For example, the world is an illustration. Secondly, imputation on the basis of time: any entity that relies on the object appearing as the basis of imputation in time, and is established from the perspective of establishing its own identity, that is the definition of imputation on the basis of time in this context. For example, the first moment (སྐད་ཅིག་དང་པོ་) of a vase is an illustration. Thirdly, imputation on the basis of essence: any entity that relies on the essence of another dharma as the basis of imputation, and is established from the perspective of establishing its own identity, that is the definition of imputation on the basis of essence in this context. For example, the arising (སྐྱེ་བ་) of a vase is an illustration. Regarding the third, there are two aspects: definition and classification. Firstly, the definition is: any phenomenon that appears as the essence of a dharma, from the perspective of its own essence, is insubstantial, functional, and empty, and is merely established as a dharma, that is the definition of insubstantiality in this context. For example, space is an illustration. Secondly, the classification includes the three types of insubstantiality that transform into other entities, and so on. The third part is the unique factor for determination, including the establishment of the two truths, the establishment of the four truths, the establishment of the five dharmas, and the establishment of the three natures, totaling four. Firstly, the establishment of the two truths, divided into conventional truth (ཀུན་རྫོབ་, Saṃvṛti, saṃvṛti, covering) and ultimate truth (དོན་དམ་, Paramārtha, paramārtha, ultimate). Firstly, conventional truth, divided into definition and classification. Firstly, the definition is: any object of consciousness along with its retinue, although it is not truly existent in its actual state, it is established from the perspective of its own identity being merely nominal, that is the definition of conventional truth. For example, the Ālayavijñāna (ཀུན་གཞིའི་རྣམ་ཤེས་, Ālayavijñāna, ālayavijñāna, storehouse consciousness) is an illustration. Secondly, the classification includes three types: entity, name, and category, among which the category is further divided into false conventional (ལོག་པ་ཀུན་རྫོབ་) and correct conventional (ཡང་དག་ཀུན་རྫོབ་). --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
