May the glorious blessing of the supreme Guru, who perfectly accomplishes and whose qualities are indistinguishable, who ripens disciples with equal fortune, be auspicious! May the glorious blessing of the great Arhats, who uphold the teachings and benefit beings as long as samsara lasts, holding the conduct of the Hearers through the compassion of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas of the three times, be auspicious! Furthermore, those who wish to recite the 'Amitayus Dharani Sutra' and the 'Marici Dharani Sutra' should first recite their respective praises. If you do multiple sessions in one day, in the first session, do the seven-branch offering, omitting the prostration branch of praise; in the intermediate sessions, recite the 'Bodhicaryavatara' and the 'Confession of Continuous Stream' from the Tantras; in the final session, do the medium-length seven-branch offering as described above. For two or more sessions, apply the same principle. If the Sangha wishes to offer a torma, they should first do the seven-branch offering and generate Bodhicitta, then offer the torma, and finally recite various prayers and auspicious verses as appropriate. Before engaging in the activity of eating, recite the 'Sutra of Recollecting the Three Jewels,' which is as follows: 'Thus the Bhagavan, the Tathagata, the Arhat, the Perfectly Enlightened One, endowed with knowledge and conduct, the Sugata, the Knower of the World, the unsurpassed guide of beings to be tamed, the Teacher of gods and humans, the Buddha, the Bhagavan.' 'That Tathagata is the common cause of merit, the roots of virtue are not wasted, adorned with patience, the basis of the treasures of merit, adorned with excellent marks, flowers blooming with signs, conduct that is appropriately harmonious, seeing him is never displeasing, those who have faith rejoice, wisdom is unconquerable, strength is unparalleled, the teacher of all sentient beings, the father of Bodhisattvas, the king of noble beings, the guide for those who go to the city of Nirvana, possessing immeasurable wisdom, inconceivable fearlessness, speech that is perfectly pure, a melodious voice, a body that is never tiring to behold, a body that is incomparable, not stained by desires, not closely associated with forms, not mixed with the formless, liberated from suffering, completely liberated from the aggregates, not associated with the elements, the sense bases are restrained, the knots are completely cut, liberated from all afflictions.' --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
