On the island of Simhala (Sri Lanka), dwells the Elder Vajriputra, surrounded by a thousand Arhats, holding the threatening mudra and a yak tail fan, I prostrate to you. Bless the longevity of the Lama and the flourishing of the Dharma! On the island of the Yamuna River, dwells the noble Elder Bhadra, surrounded by one thousand two hundred Arhats, teaching the Dharma and practicing meditation, I prostrate to you. Bless the longevity of the Lama and the flourishing of the Dharma! In the supreme land of Kashmir, dwells the noble Elder Kanakavatsa, surrounded by five hundred great Arhats, holding a precious lasso, I prostrate to you. Bless the longevity of the Lama and the flourishing of the Dharma! In the western Godaniya, dwells the venerable Bharadvaja, surrounded by seven hundred great Arhats, with both hands in meditative equipoise, I prostrate to you. Bless the longevity of the Lama and the flourishing of the Dharma! In the northern Kuru, dwells the noble Elder Bakula, surrounded by nine hundred great Arhats, holding a mongoose in both hands, I prostrate to you. Bless the longevity of the Lama and the flourishing of the Dharma! The noble Upasaka Dharmatala, with hair tied in a topknot, carrying scriptures, residing before Amitabha, holding a yak tail fan and a vase, I prostrate to you. Bless the longevity of the Lama and the flourishing of the Dharma! Adorned with the armor of diligence, possessing power and strength, well protecting the Buddha's teachings, I prostrate to the four Great Kings of the four directions: east, south, west, and north. Bless the longevity of the Lama and the flourishing of the Dharma! At the end of each verse, add 'Bless the flourishing of the Dharma'. I prostrate, offer, take refuge, and request blessings from the Bhagavan, Tathagata, Arhat, Samyaksambuddha Shakyamuni Buddha at all times! Please grant your blessings! Shakyamuni Buddha, the Tathagata, entrusted the task of protecting the sacred Dharma and accumulating merit for gods and humans to these beings, who, instead of passing into Nirvana, remain visibly in the world. They promised to follow the Buddha's teachings; they are noble ones, and they keep their word. On Mount Kailash, the great Elder Arhats, along with their retinue of one thousand three hundred Arhats, reside.
