Collection of Teachings by Ngawang Lodro Drakpa JNLD154: The Method of Offering to the Three Jewels - A Cloud of Offerings that Pleases the Victorious Ones. 8-108 Single Verse In Sanskrit: Eka Gatha. In Tibetan: Single Verse. I prostrate to the Three Jewels! A great ascetic like you, the best of men, Is not found in the heavens or on earth. Nor is he in this world, nor in the abode of Vaishravana (Tibetan: rNam thos bu, meaning 'Son of All Sounds', a guardian deity). He is not in the excellent abodes of the gods, nor in the directions or intermediate directions. Even if one were to search all over the earth covered with mountains and forests, where would he be found? End of the Single Verse. Famous, greatly wise, Great Sage, greatly brave, Transcended the suffering of existence, I prostrate to the one who has overcome afflictions. Loving towards sentient beings, With a mind detached and free, With a mind of inseparable bliss, I prostrate to you, who think of benefit and happiness. The Sage has certainly freed himself from all obscurations, He overwhelms all the world. Your knowledge pervades all that is knowable, I prostrate to you, whose mind is liberated. For all sentient beings, You subdue all afflictions without exception. Subduer of afflictions, to afflictions, I prostrate to you with love. Spontaneously accomplished and without attachment, Without hindrance, always, Abiding in equanimity, answering all questions, I prostrate to you, who respond. The support and the supported, what is to be said, Speech and knowledge, and the one who explains, Intelligence, constant and unhindered, I prostrate to you, who show well. Having gone, you know the conduct, With words, for sentient beings, Coming and going, and definite emergence, I prostrate to you, who teach well. 8-109 When embodied beings see you, They recognize the noble person well. By merely seeing, they have great faith, I prostrate to you, who act thus. Taking and abiding and giving, Emanation and complete transformation, Concentration and wisdom, I prostrate to you, who have attained mastery. Skillful means and refuge and purification, And definite emergence into the Great Vehicle, You completely deceive sentient beings, I prostrate to you, who destroy the demons. For the sake of self and others, wisdom, Abandonment and definite emergence, those who hinder, You show, and other non-Buddhists, I prostrate to you, who are not defiled. Without protection, without forgetfulness, In the midst of the assembly, you speak of guarding mindfulness. Having abandoned the two completely afflicted ones, I prostrate to you, who gather the assembly. Omniscient, your going and abiding, -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ཀུན་ལ་རྟག་པར་

To all beings, you are eternal. You have no unreasoned actions of omniscience. I pay homage to you, who possess true meaning. For the actions of all sentient beings, You never exceed the time. Your actions always have meaning, I pay homage to you, who never forget. For all the world, day and night, You watch separately at six times. I pay homage to you, who possess great compassion and the intention to benefit beings. For discernment and discrimination, For wisdom and activity, For all the Shravakas (Hearers), Pratyekabuddhas (Solitary Realizers), Guru, I pay homage to you. Perfect enlightenment of the three Kayas (bodies of a Buddha), In all aspects, you have attained, Cutting off all the doubts of all sentient beings, I pay homage to you. You have no grasping, no faults, No turbidity, not abiding anywhere, For all the immovable Dharmas (phenomena), I pay homage to you, who are without elaboration. Due to what does dependent origination arise, Neither ceasing nor arising, Neither cutting off nor permanent, Neither coming nor going, Neither different meaning nor one meaning, Pacifying all elaborations, Spoken by all the perfect Buddhas, I pay homage to that sacred Dharma. You have dispelled the net of discrimination, Possessing a profound and vast body. The rays of Samantabhadra (All-Good), Shining in all directions, I pay homage to you. You are unstained by faults, your body color is white, Adorned with the crown of the perfect Buddha, Looking upon beings with eyes of compassion, I pay homage to Avalokiteshvara (the one who looks with compassion). Praised by all the Buddhas, Adorned with all the supreme qualities, Avalokiteshvara, you are so named, I pay homage to you, the symbol of love. You hold a youthful body, Adorning yourself with the lamp of wisdom, Dispelling the darkness of the three realms, I pay homage to Manjushri (Gentle Glory). You possess great strength and fierceness, You are the king of Vidyas (knowledge mantras), bringing auspiciousness, Subduing all who are difficult to tame, I pay homage to the one who holds the Vajra (thunderbolt). For the basis of Bodhicitta (the mind of enlightenment), And all the Stupas (reliquary mounds), I prostrate. For the Khenpo (preceptor), as well as the Acharya (teacher), And the supreme ascetics, I also prostrate. For all those worthy of homage, With bodies bowed down equal to the number of dust particles in all Buddha-fields, In all ways, I prostrate with supreme faith.
