The faith that believes in the truth of reality, which has the power to control, is the faculty of faith (dad pa'i dbang po). Secondly, the diligence that rejoices in the truth of reality, starting with 'the truth,' is the faculty of diligence (brtson 'grus kyi dbang po). Thirdly, the mindfulness that does not forget the object of reality, starting with 'the truth,' is the faculty of mindfulness (dran pa'i dbang po). Fourthly, the samadhi that abides single-pointedly in reality, starting with 'the truth,' is the faculty of samadhi (ting nge 'dzin gyi dbang po). Fifthly, the wisdom that individually understands the reality as it is, starting with 'the truth,' is the faculty of wisdom (shes rab kyi dbang po). Among the five faculties, the first is the faith that believes in the truth of reality, which has the power not to be overcome by disbelief, is the power of faith (dad pa'i stobs). Secondly, the diligence that rejoices in the truth of reality, which has the power not to be overcome by laziness, is the power of diligence (brtson 'grus kyi stobs). Thirdly, the mindfulness that does not forget the object of reality, which has the power not to be overcome by forgetfulness, is the power of mindfulness (dran pa'i stobs). Fourthly, the samadhi that abides single-pointedly in reality, which has the power not to be overcome by distraction, is the power of samadhi (ting nge 'dzin gyi stobs).
