Therefore, the evil thoughts of desire and hatred, whose mental events (Sanskrit: Citta, mind; events: accompanying), have the following nature: there is a reason to be called 'afflictions' (Sanskrit: kleśa), because for those who manifest and are particularly prone to these afflictions, the consciousness (mind) and its retinue (mental events) corresponding to these afflictions, and some of their subsequent continuations, are made very bad by your power, thus making them far away from the opportunity to reach the supreme, pure, and blissful state, therefore you are called that. For example, just like those lowly people in the world who are deprived of happy circumstances. Furthermore, they have the following nature: they are sinful and unwholesome, because they correspond to non-meritorious actions and are the source of producing unpleasant black results of maturation. Furthermore, they are 'outflows' (Sanskrit: āsrava, transliteration: asrava, literal meaning: leakage, defilement), because the person who possesses this nature, due to their control, usually falls from the higher state of liberation and the lower state of samsara, to various high and low places in the lower state of samsara, and because they cause people to fall, they are regarded as true outflows. The bodies and minds of gods and humans are temporarily free from unbearable suffering, so for ordinary people, they are seemingly pleasant things, because compared to the suffering of hell, which is intense and long-lasting, and there is not even a moment of interruption, so now the bodies and minds of gods and humans, in the eyes of ordinary people, are things with less suffering, opportunities for respite, and a state of bliss, so they are considered pleasant things. Through this reasoning, it can be seen more clearly that the bodies and minds of hell beings directly feel intense suffering, so they are unpleasant things. Whether it is the body and mind of a good or bad realm, it is a 'skandha of appropriation' (Sanskrit: upādānaskandha, transliteration: upādānaskandha, literal meaning: aggregates of grasping), because each of the five aggregates (Sanskrit: skandha, transliteration: skandha, literal meaning: aggregates) is produced by the two karmas that previously promoted and completed, and the completer is the desire that is the essence of grasping at the time of death, so the aggregates and fruits that are grasped or produced by it, that is, such bodies and minds, will also grasp and increase many future sufferings again, so they are called 'skandhas of appropriation'. The three sufferings here are not completely covered by feeling, because here, these three sufferings must be regarded as having the same basis and the same object. Why can't feeling completely cover these sufferings? Because each of these three sufferings has the same basis and object as the contaminated feelings, that is, suffering, pleasure, and equanimity.

Therefore, each feeling is established in this way. The second point is established because such a feeling, with the same basis and object, is not just the feeling itself. The reason is that if the other minds and mental factors that correspond to the feeling are not feelings, then the internal sense organs and external objects such as form, needless to say, are not feelings. Secondly, regarding the cultivation of conventional Bodhicitta in the interim, it is divided into the actual method of cultivation and investigation. The first part is further divided into the method of learning the preliminaries and the method of actually generating it. First, for the cause of generating the Mahayana Bodhicitta, one must first contemplate the cause-and-effect instructions in this way: that is, one must rely on the reasoning that all sentient beings pervading space have been one's mother, and the impeccable scriptural authority of all the Buddha's teachings, and the reasoning that the beginning of one's birth can never be reached, etc., to generate certainty in the mind and strive to produce a heartfelt, unfeigned experience. Then, for those beings who have not done anything for oneself, just like one's present mother, the affection in one's heart never diminishes, and the reasons for especially protecting them with care and cherishing them with body and speech should be carefully remembered in the mind, and repeatedly contemplated to produce an experience like the previous one. Then, if all mother beings have done such cherished kindness for oneself, then now I should repay their kindness well by giving back to them, otherwise, where is there a more shameless and ungrateful person than me? In this way, repeatedly generate the thought of repaying the kindness of mother beings, and produce an experience like the previous one. Then, may all those kind mother beings temporarily have the happiness of gods and humans and the ten virtues that are the cause of happiness, and ultimately attain the state of liberation and omniscience, and all the white and virtuous deeds such as the ten bhumis and five paths that are the cause of attaining these states, how wonderful it would be if they possessed them, and in order for them to possess them, may the blessings of the Lama and the Three Jewels be bestowed! In this way, for all sentient beings, like a mother treating her only child, strive to generate a mind that is pleasing and cherished, and produce an experience like the previous one. Then, again, may all those mother sentient beings be free from all the sufferings of samsara and the ten non-virtues that are the cause of suffering, etc., and the Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas who do not wish to benefit others, cannot benefit others, and the benefits that can be accomplished by one Buddha body 4-265 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
