This is because of the fault of not distinguishing the different systems of interpretation. The first is spoken for the sake of taming those who are difficult to tame, such as Khen Rinpoche (Precious Abbot), etc.; the latter is literal. As the Dharma Lord Sakya Pandita (a famous Sakya scholar) said in 'Differentiation of the Three Vows': 'The Buddha's words have two aspects: definitive and provisional meaning. Language also has two aspects: literal and non-literal. Vehicles also exist in two ways: worldly and beyond worldly. Explanations also have three aspects: intention, allusive intention, and direct. These are the three types of intention.' Therefore, it is necessary to distinguish these different systems of interpretation. Thus, from the age of fifty-five to sixty-five, he was already inclined to go to other pure Buddha-fields. As a sign, before that, whatever this great being did, whether subtle or gross, his mind was always very calm. But from that year onwards, for many Lamas and Khenpos (Abbots) from all over, especially for those outstanding heart-sons who were born from noble families and Dharma lineages, such as the great Sakya Rinpoche Jamyang Ngawang Sonam Wangchuk Drakpa Gyaltsen Palsangpo and his sons, he did not abandon them with great compassion at any time or in any situation, extensively turning the wheel of Dharma, as if fearing that everything would not be completed, exerting all his efforts. During Dharma assemblies and other activities, he would also gather the Sangha (community) to listen to the Dharma during meal times, and others would also gather to listen to the Dharma, spending time with the Dharma. For temples and Buddha images, he also carried out repairs, reconstructions, and new constructions, repeatedly emphasizing that they should be completed as soon as possible. From this, it can be inferred that he already knew and considered going to other Buddha-fields, but only for the sake of those disciples who needed to be tamed, he temporarily remained in this world with compassion, otherwise he would have wanted to go to the Pure Land of Bliss long ago. To this, someone said: 'The Lama repeatedly expressed his longing for Nirvana and peace to his attendants, but because his body was not his own, he could not fulfill his wish. Venerable Ananda (one of the Buddha's ten great disciples) was also confused and frustrated by this. The Lama's prophecies have manifested, and many evil deeds have also made the holy one weary, so he loathed this land and wanted to go to other Buddha-fields. Although he had said such things, they were suppressed by inner worries.' This is the thought of the supreme guide. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The venerable master, in the definitive sense, had already realized the Dharmakaya (chos kyi sku, the Body of Dharma) where the realm of reality and wisdom are one, and had pacified the elaborations of birth and death. However, in the conventional appearance to others, just as the Buddhas (rgyal ba) display various activities of the Nirmanakaya (sprul pa'i sku, Body of Emanation) to tame beings according to their needs, it is the general custom of the Buddhas. Thus, in his sixty-third year, in the Earth-Pig year, from the beginning of the month of Sron (snron zla ba'i, approximately November), he showed a slight sign of illness. In reality, it was only due to a slight weakening of his physical constitution. On occasion, there would be a slight flash of light, but there was no significant sign of fatigue. He remained single-mindedly devoted to profound meditation, and during his sessions, he also completed unfinished writings. He offered precious silk for the covers and straps of the scriptures that were near him. He said, 'Although these scriptures may not be used in this life, please send all of them without exception to the great library, along with the manuscripts of the previous lamas.' He also said, 'The activity of not returning has been entrusted to the Dharma protectors, so it may be beneficial to future followers and to ourselves in the future.' Although there was no major illness, and therefore not much intervention with medicine, in order to accumulate merit for the followers and to avoid speaking ill of others, he consulted with two skilled physicians and followed some of their health advice. He also allowed the performance of rituals as he wished. Therefore, he made extensive offerings, including tea offerings, to countless monasteries in U-Tsang (dbus gtsang, Central Tibet), without sectarian distinction. In this monastery itself, he gathered the surrounding Sangha (dge 'dun, monastic community), numbering over a thousand, and continuously provided them with great honor and offerings. Furthermore, countless monastic and lay disciples, both in and outside of Tibet, mainly from the northern and southern monasteries, prayed single-mindedly day and night for the stability of his lotus feet. Although hundreds of cushions were prepared for this purpose, if the disciples had the karma and fortune, he could have blessed them to extend his life as he wished. However, due to the lack of merit of sentient beings, he did not have the clarity to give teachings and attend Tsok (tshul sgrub mchod, gathering) offerings. Like Rongton Chöjé (rong ston chos rje) and the great Ngakchang (sngags 'chang, mantra holder), he taught the Dharma before passing away. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
