If young, make a determination to enter the target realm first. Clean the meditation room, burn incense, and then take the scriptures to a place other than the bed to recite, and send replies from there as well. Be restrained with regard to offerings of food, and rely wholeheartedly on the Lama and the Three Jewels. It is important not to change your mind before completing the prescribed period of months and years. How to perform a fire offering to complete and empower: Like this, if the recitation and practice are done well, then the method of performing a fire offering to complete and empower is as follows: Whether in that place or another, if it is a new place where the ground ritual has not been done before, it is necessary to do the ground ritual there. On a square fire altar plastered with mud, arrange three portions of torma (Tibetan: གཏོར་མ་, Sanskrit: bali, Romanized Sanskrit: bali, literal meaning: food offering). With the pride of the deity (Tibetan: ང་རྒྱལ།, Sanskrit: māna, Romanized Sanskrit: māna, literal meaning: arrogance) or just do a brief self-generation, do the three portions of torma as usual, and in the final entrustment of the torma for the directional guardians and the expulsion of spirits, say: 'In this place, establish the mandala of the fire offering of Lokeshvara (Tibetan: འཇིག་རྟེན་དབང་ཕྱུག, Sanskrit: Lokeśvara, Romanized Sanskrit: Lokeśvara, literal meaning: Worldly Sovereign), in order to worship the deities and benefit sentient beings, please grant me this place, and also grant me the accomplishment of the activity.' For the torma for expelling obstacles, like making a true offering, when doing the preliminary three portions of torma for recitation and practice, bless with great truthfulness, the difference being: 'In this place, for the spirits, etc., that cause harm and injury to us yogis, ghosts, may you return to your own place.' In this place, from 'in order to' to 'please you' is the same as above. 'For those evil spirits who cannot secretly enjoy and watch, may you be satisfied with this torma, leave this place and go elsewhere.' Recite 'Namo Vajra Krodha' (Tibetan: ན་མོ་བཛྲ་ཀྲོ་དྷ་, Sanskrit Devanagari: नम वज्र क्रोध, Romanized Sanskrit: nama vajra krodha, literal meaning: Homage to Vajra Wrathful) etc., until 'May all obstacles be completely pacified.' Sprinkle white mustard seeds on the ground, burn frankincense, and visualize expelling all obstacles. Then destroy the foundation of the fire altar with your hands, with firm deity pride, repeatedly recite 'Om Bhukham' (Tibetan: ཨོཾ་བྷུ་ཁཾ་, Sanskrit Devanagari: ओम् भु खं, Romanized Sanskrit: om bhu kham, literal meaning: Om, Earth, Space), visualize becoming the nature of emptiness. Again recite 'Om Hana Hana Krodha Hum Phat' (Tibetan: ཨོཾ་ཧ་ན་ཧ་ན་ཀྲོ་དྷ་ཧཱུྃ་ཕཊ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: ओम् हन हन क्रोध हुं फट, Romanized Sanskrit: om hana hana krodha hum phat, literal meaning: Om, strike, strike, wrathful, Hum, Phat), visualize being free from all faults. If you have done a brief self-generation above, protect the three places, dedicate the merit, etc. If you draw the fire altar here, smear it with white earth, draw eight large circles with red earth in accordance with the common ritual, and draw a circle one span high from the center, which is the substance of the fire altar. Draw a circle four fingers wide outside as the edge, and draw another circle four fingers wide as the enclosure.
