Homage to Amitabha ( 'od dpag med, the name of Amitabha, meaning immeasurable light)! Praise: I prostrate to the one whose face is like the autumn moon, perfectly flawless. Adorned by gatherings of thousands of stars, radiating light, immensely brilliant. I prostrate to the white Tara (sgrol ma, savior) with the moon's radiance, with three faces complete with the three bodies (sku gsum, Dharmakaya, Sambhogakaya, Nirmanakaya), the left face being blue. The right face is the color of gold from the Jambudvipa river ('dzam bu chu bo, an ancient Indian river). Due to pure dependent origination (rten 'brel, dependent arising), she has twelve hands. I prostrate to the first pair of hands making the gesture of equanimity (mnyam pa'i phyag rgya, symbolizing equality). The second holds a khatvanga (kha TwAM ga, a type of ritual staff). The third holds a burning wheel. The fourth holds a wish-fulfilling jewel (yid bzhin nor bu, a jewel that fulfills wishes). I prostrate to the fifth hand raising a vajra (rdo rje, a ritual object). The sixth holds a garland of flowers. The second of the left hands pours nectar (ril ba spyi blugs, nectar pills). Washing away all defilements of afflictions. I prostrate to the third hand holding a beautiful lotus (ut+pal, blue lotus). The fourth hand rings the bell of emptiness (dril bu, bell). The fifth hand holds a treasure vase (bum pa, a vase filled with treasures). The sixth hand holds scriptures (po ti, books), teaching the Dharma to beings. Thus. The third is Golden Tara (gser mdog can), on a lotus and sun disc, from the syllable rai (seed syllable) emanates Golden Tara, with one face and ten arms. The right hands hold a rosary, sword, arrow, vajra, and hook. The left hands hold a ribbon, lasso, lotus, bell, and bow, residing in a playful posture. The lineage lord is Ratnasambhava (rin 'byung). Praise: I prostrate to the golden Tara, born from the golden lotus. Adorning her hands with lotuses. Generosity, diligence, asceticism, peace. Patience, meditation, are her realm of activity. I prostrate to the golden Tara, on a seat of various lotuses and sun discs. In vajra posture (rdo rje skyil krung, a sitting posture), exceedingly majestic. The ten hands symbolize the ten perfections (pha rol phyin bcu, generosity, ethics, patience, diligence, meditation, wisdom, skillful means, aspiration, power, knowledge). I prostrate to the first hand holding a rosary at her heart. The second holds the sword of wisdom. The third shoots an arrow, piercing afflictions. The fourth holds a vajra, the fifth a hook. I prostrate to the first of the left hands holding a ribbon. The second holds a lasso, the third a lotus. The fourth hand rings a bell. The fifth hand holds the bow of compassion. Thus. The fourth is Ushnishavijaya Tara (gtsug tor rnam par rgyal ma'i sgrol ma), emanating from the syllable TUT (ཏུཏྟཱ,TUTTA,tuttā,Tutta) on a yellow lotus and moon, Tara is yellow in color, with one face and four arms. The right hands make the gesture of supreme giving (mchog sbyin, a mudra of giving blessings) and hold a rosary, the left hands hold a kundika (gaN+De, a type of container) and a hook, residing in a bodhisattva posture. The lineage lord. Praise: I prostrate to the Ushnisha (de bzhin gshegs pa'i gtsug tor, the crown of the Buddha) of the Tathagata. Acting in boundless victory. Having attained all the paramitas (pha rol phyin pa, reaching the other shore). Revered by the sons of the Buddhas. I prostrate to Ushnishavijaya Tara, upon a lotus. Upon a moon seat of increasing bliss without outflows (zag med, without defilements). Steadfastly residing in a bodhisattva posture. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
