That which possesses these three is a cutter. It is said. Sickness, enemies, evil spirits, defilements, the eight worldly concerns, attachment, hatred, etc. To cut off the demons of various inharmonious things of the world. It is said that it is for headaches, epidemics, leprosy, sores, wandering abscesses. Broken vows, unrestrained defilements, attachment, hatred, the eight worldly concerns. Evil curses. The quarrels of beings, etc. In short, all inharmonious aspects of the world are to be cut off. From the collection of teachings: Fear of formless ghosts, and hope in unseen gods, and formless demons, etc. Cut off all hopes and doubts in the mind. It is said. Cut off wherever afflictions arise, such as one's own country, villages, kingdoms, monasteries, and houses. It is said that in cutting, one prefers many adverse conditions to favorable conditions and complete causes, because in places with many adverse conditions, equanimity helps in virtue, and qualities arise. Therefore, where should one cut? It should be done in villages, because villages are more powerful than springs, single trees, and mountains, because there are demons of attachment, hatred, the eight worldly concerns, happiness, suffering, and strife. Therefore, one will wander in samsara forever. One should cut in a kingdom without bias, because a kingdom without bias is more powerful than rocks, thickets, and wastelands, because there are demons of happiness, suffering, attachment, hatred, and liking and disliking. Therefore, one will lose control of this life. One should cut in one's birthplace, because one's birthplace is more powerful than caves, ravines, and empty valleys, because there are demons of family honor, profit, fame, and greatness and smallness. Therefore, one will lose control to afflictions. One should cut in monasteries and monastic colleges, because monastic colleges are more powerful than ruins, empty rooms, and snowy mountain peaks, because there are demons of jealousy, competition, sarcasm, and attachment and hatred. Therefore, they destroy vows and precepts. One should cut in the presence of the lama, because the presence of the lama is more powerful than temples, solitary places, and cemeteries, because there are demons of wrong views, curses, little devotion, and too much familiarity. Therefore, they are obstacles to attaining liberation. One should cut in one's own bedroom, because one's own bedroom is more powerful than roads, crossroads, and main streets, because there are laziness, idleness, ease, and

Because there are evil spirits that prevent practitioners from meditating peacefully, and if virtuous conduct declines, it will hinder the practitioner's determination to go to a solitary place for practice. Therefore, if one can practice without being influenced by these adverse conditions, one can cut off the worldly habits of practitioners, eliminate confusion in actual practice, and thus divide the boundary between samsara and nirvana. The length of time, from the beginning until the attainment of Bodhi, whenever suffering, misfortune, or adverse conditions arise, one should practice. That is, long-term practice should continue until the attainment of Bodhi, medium-term practice should continue until the end of life, and short-term practice should also persist for a whole day. Whenever suffering, misfortune, faults, or adverse conditions arise, one should practice. Illness, demons, decline, the eight worldly concerns, suffering and happiness, etc., are understood through the practice of no-self-nature and transformed into the path. In the past, one revolved in the three realms, wandered in the six realms, and suffered various sufferings, because the wisdom of realization did not arise. And the wisdom of realization did not arise because one accepted and rejected the phenomena of appearance and sound, affirmed and denied, fell into hope and fear, and did not treat them equally. For example, beings in the hungry ghost realm cannot obtain food and drink for countless eons because they are tormented by intense desires. There are three methods to cut this off: cutting off illness and demons, cutting off impurity and decline, and cutting off the eight worldly concerns and suffering and happiness. The first is when encountering an unfavorable year, unfavorable month, inauspicious star, evil planet, inauspicious direction, five kinds of ghosts, demonic disturbances, corpse possession, four kinds of evil omens, seven kinds of side omens, nine eyes, tomb eyes, bad divination, bad calculations, and bad dreams, others will perform sacrifices and Bon rituals, perform longevity rituals and Dorje Drolo repulsions, perform sacrifices and throw ransom figures, perform empowerments, hold gatherings, etc., recite scriptures, wear amulets, tortoise shells, and vajra kilayas, change names, and transform bodies. These are all worldly, false discriminations. But the view of this Dharma is to fight poison with poison, to subdue demons with demons, to abandon doubts, to go towards fear, and to let go of suffering. Therefore, it goes to itself as a remedy for protection. For example, just as the bite of a mad dog is treated with the teeth of the same mad dog. In the limbs it says: Attachment is a demon, effort is a disease, doubt is a ghost, and the body is a corpse. Given as food.
