The basis for generating all faults, merits, samsara, and nirvana. The place where the four elements, afflictions, wind, bile, and phlegm accumulate. This means that this body is the basis for generating all causes of happiness, suffering, samsara, and nirvana, which are the root channels, winds, bindus, letters, and all good and bad thoughts. The nature of the body itself is also the thirty-two constituents such as flesh and blood, and the four elements and the nature of wind, bile, and phlegm, so it should be severed there. When illness and suffering arise in body, speech, and mind, and when tormented by severe pain from unfavorable and conflicting circumstances. This means that when the body develops diseases of heat and cold, the speech develops diseases of wind, and the mind develops diseases of thoughts, it should be severed. The basis for the arising of all diseases, sufferings, faults, and shortcomings is the two, body and mind; separating them will surely lead to liberation. This means that when the body is sick and the mind is suffering, this mind itself should be made into the nature of A (Tibetan: ཨ, Devanagari: अ, Romanized Sanskrit: a, Literal meaning: A). Eject it from the crown of the head and dissolve it into emptiness in the realm of space. Leave this inanimate body like an empty house where the owner has died, unattended and abandoned. Separate the inanimate body and the mind consciousness, do not mix the affairs of the body with the mind, and do not mix the affairs of the mind with the body, but remain in the vast expanse of awareness without thinking of anything. Relax and let go. Let it go wherever it goes, and rest well. This empty mind, like the sky, has no cause for sickness or death. This inanimate body, like earth and stone, has no one to get sick or die. If this sudden thought has a cause for sickness, then you be sick. If there is a cause for death, then die. Having done so, relax and lie down in the state of immateriality. There is nothing to deliberately meditate on other than resting in this state of immateriality, and not meditating is the ultimate meditation. By doing so, the disease will be cured and come. But one should not have hope for recovery or a happy mind. The "Collection of Teachings" says: Like a lion on the white snow mountain, without fear or timidity, possessing unpretentious confidence, all diseases and demons cannot harm you. So it is. Pointing the threatening finger, which the snake cannot tolerate, is the meaning of emptiness. Whose meditation, the disease and demons cannot tolerate, pacify and flee.

If you erect artemisia and say there are poisonous snakes here, the snakes cannot tolerate it, and if there is no artemisia, they will come to search. If there is, the snake will either die or flee to another place. Similarly, when a yogi practicing asceticism focuses on a patient, the patient's illness and the demon that causes it cannot tolerate it and are aroused, becoming more severe than before. If one possesses the artemisia of realizing emptiness, the illness will subside and disappear. The Mother said: If the illness worsens through meditation, it is because it has been aroused, so generate effort. For example, just as when producing fire by friction, a long and intense process will produce fire. So it is said. Whenever one is afflicted by severe illness and suffering, at that time, if one loses confidence, becomes discouraged, and abandons effort, one will decline. That is to say, when severe illness and suffering occur, one loses confidence in practice, the courage of the mind diminishes, the sharpness of intelligence fades, one doubts the method, and one does not trust the instructions. At that time, nothing will help. Whatever one does is useless. Thinking that no matter what one does, it will not improve, if one abandons the effort of practice, one will decline. From the Vinaya Pitaka: If one is discouraged and abandons effort, how can one be liberated from poverty? If one generates arrogant effort, even great ones will find it difficult to overcome. So it is said. The hero of the mind, the power and ability of one who possesses realization and understanding increase. The armor and weapons of sharp insight and conduct destroy the armies of demons. There are three ways to suppress wrong views: the view of the emptiness of phenomena, the meditation on profound objects, and the conduct of skillful means of interdependence. The first is: illness, the patient, and demons, these three; mind, obstacles, and suffering, these three; body, speech, and mind, these three; means, object, and interdependence, these three; view all as being empty in nature. From the Collection of Teachings: If you do not practice anything, that itself is practice. Practice is something done by the intellect to be known, there is no experience in the true meaning. So it is said. The meditation on profound objects is: meditate on illness and suffering as an awakening to the profound nature of reality. By searching for the one who is sick and not finding them, the nature of reality naturally arises. Meditate on it as a means of enhancing practice and realization, that is, by thinking about illness and suffering and practicing, special practice and realization will arise, just like finding a jewel while searching for a lost needle. Meditate on it as a favorable condition for achieving liberation, purifying obscurations.
