Especially generate devotion to the lama who demonstrates the Chö practice. In any Dharma of the path, there will be no acceptance or rejection, no affirmation or negation. The ultimate limit is: to traverse the five paths with force, to gradually press down on the ten grounds, to manifest the five signs, to arise the eight qualities, to attain the position of the eight great accomplished ones, and to accomplish the four activities. In the "Collection of Teachings," it says: From the purification of body, speech, and mind, the three kayas are not other fruits. Since samsara is liberated in its own place, nirvana cannot be attained separately. If one does not fixate on anything in the mind, habitual tendencies will not arise, and the five paths will be perfected. Thus it is said. Naturally non-conceptual, skillful in transformation, able to abandon with antidotes, and knowing to offer to those who possess emptiness, compassion, and bodhicitta. This means that a person who enters the gate of Chö, with the mind desiring all beings, self and others, to attain Buddhahood, should cut with one who possesses six qualities: The best is to realize that the nature of afflictions is empty and naturally liberated, and to know and suppress that the maturity of emptiness and compassion is naturally empty. The intermediate is to be able to transform afflictions into wisdom through skillful means, and to accomplish benefiting others with bodhicitta. The lowest is to know to make offerings to the Sugatas and to be able to abandon with antidotes. In the "Parts," it says: Do not be attached to appearances, meditate on emptiness; do not delight in companions, dwell alone. Thus it is said. Demons and spirits cannot lead one to the realm of evil destinies. One should destroy the demon of afflictions, because it causes the suffering of samsara. That is to say, the demon of attachment and aversion, the ghosts of the three poisons, the evil spirits of the five poisons, the yakshas of the six root afflictions, the spirits of the twenty secondary afflictions, the flesh-eaters and dakinis of the eighty-four thousand afflictions, constantly abide in the charnel ground of the three doors, obstructing virtuous deeds, creating obstacles to liberation, and stealing the life of meditation. Even if worldly demons and spirits, evil guides, and fierce enemies arise, they cannot bind one in the three realms or cast one into the lower realms. Because it is the demon of afflictions that casts one into the ocean of suffering in samsara. In the "Entering the Bodhisattva's Way," it says: Even if gods and demigods, all arise as enemies against me, still they cannot cast me into the fire of Avici hell to burn. The powerful enemy of afflictions will

. If it encounters anything, even Mount Meru can be reduced to ashes. There I abandon myself in a single instant. So it is said. Most practitioners of Chöd mostly cut off external gods and demons, but they do not cut off the internal demons of attachment and aversion. If they were cut off, attachment and aversion would have to subside on their own. Afflictions would have to be naturally liberated. Because this is not achieved, some practitioners of Chöd rely on Jomo (consorts), and drinking alcohol and acting crudely occur. If it is said that they rely on Jomo and drink alcohol but have no attachment, it is because they have attachment that they rely on those things. If they didn't, they wouldn't need to rely on them. As long as they rely on desire and craving, they will have attachment. For example, if you eat garlic, the garlic smell will not go away. It's like if you take medicine, the medicine smell will not go away. If you eat medicine and garlic, there will be a smell, and smelling the smell is a sign that you have eaten it, so it exists in a cause-and-effect relationship. Therefore, there are four types of Chöd practitioners: those who cut off the external but not the internal, those who subdue demons but not conceptual thoughts, those who heal leprosy but not afflictions, and those who destroy the result without destroying the cause. This Chöd is not only for subduing ghosts and spirits; the field of Chöd is established as a general name for Dharma, so the benefits and harms are great. It should be applied to all dualistic phenomena such as attachment and aversion, the eight worldly concerns, pleasure and pain, acceptance and rejection, affirmation and negation, hope and despair, and so on. Many ghosts and demons are cut off, but few have subdued self-grasping. Many lepers are healed, but only a few afflictions are healed. Many patients are cured, but almost no one abandons samsara. So it is said. The place is in the charnel ground where one's own body, channels, and elements gather, where afflictions and beings exist in the manner of support and supported. What is said is that in the dangerous place composed of the four elements of the body, the support is the jackal of the five aggregates, the birds of prey of the five elements, and the wild animals dwelling in the channels, elements, and sense bases. The supported are the demons and spirits of the five poisons of affliction. In the Limb it says: If you want to accomplish perfect enlightenment, go to a secluded place and practice, go to a dangerous place and train your awareness, and if you are not distracted and relax, you will surely be liberated. So it is said. The light of the wisdom of realization greatly increases, and it is cut off until the darkness of ignorance is cleared. What is said is that from entering this door until the wisdom of realization
