It is also said in the continuation of the Upper Tantra: Earth depends on water, water depends on wind, and wind depends on space. Space does not abide in wind and water, nor in the realm of earth. Likewise, the aggregates, realms, and sources depend on karma and afflictions. Karma and afflictions are not in accordance with reason, and they constantly abide in attention. Unreasonable attention abides on the purity of the mind. The nature of the mind, all phenomena, does not abide on everything. Furthermore, as it is said in the Immaculate Sutra: From where do all afflictions and the phenomena manifested by them arise? It is said: From that which has no basis. From where does that which has no basis arise? It is said: It does not arise from anywhere, like the sky. The nature of phenomena is also like the surface of a mirror, it is reasonable as a basis for the appearance of enlightenment and delusion. As it is said in the Jewel Heap Sutra: Manjushri, from the mind arise karma and afflictions, and all purification, yet the nature of the mind is empty, and it is not non-existent, because it acts as it appears. In short, as it is said in the Eight Thousand Verse Prajnaparamita Sutra: There is no mind in the mind, the nature of the mind is clear light. That itself is the basis of delusion. From its state, one does not recognize one's own nature, and due to ignorance, the image of delusion appears. Secondly, the way of delusion is like mistaking a post for a person, or mistaking a rope for a snake. Co-emergent ignorance is the basis, and one is naturally enlightened in the three mandalas, but one does not recognize it. As it is said in the Vajra Sutra: Although enlightened in the three mandalas, one does not know it because it is obscured by darkness. And, the ignorance of imputation, grasping duality in non-duality, mistaking external objects for the inner self. From this, the delusion of the latter arises from the former, and in interdependence, like the appearance of inside and outside in a dream, due to the increased power of the habit of delusion, the appearance on the ground is originally pure lands and palaces, grasping the function of abiding in mind and wisdom as self, therefore, the various external appearances and the mind itself are deluded into the five poisons, appearing as the phenomena of the six realms of beings. As it is said in the Stages of Action: Originally it is like that, originally it abides like that, the nature of the three mandalas.

It says: "Inner and outer appear as two aspects, like the self-appearance of sentient beings' realms." Also in this very text, it says: "All the deluded phenomena of the world, due to the grasping of subject and object by ignorance and conceptualization, revolve in the two interdependent aspects of inner and outer." Thus, the arising of delusion is also considered by the Mind-Only school to arise from the beginningless habitual tendencies of appearing as objects and meanings on the basis of the Alaya consciousness. According to the Svātantrika school, delusion arises because the appearance is not obstructed from the state of emptiness, like a dream, and because the nature of conventional appearance is not understood. The Prāsaṅgika school considers that delusion appears because of grasping at the nature of appearing while being non-existent, but since it is not established in the present moment, they consider delusion to be without an object. Here, however, it is in accordance with all of them, because grasping at what is originally abiding in the mandala as self is similar to the Mind-Only school. Moreover, since its essence is emptiness and its nature is clear, delusion is similar to the Svātantrika school. Ultimately, since it is non-dual, it is like the Prāsaṅgika school. Third, how delusion appears is divided into two: The two kinds of ignorance and the happiness and suffering that arise from the virtuous and non-virtuous actions they generate are as follows: By practicing the three poisons, which are the cause of non-virtue, or the ten non-virtuous actions, in great, medium, and small ways, one experiences the various sufferings of the lower realms. By familiarizing oneself with the ten virtuous actions and the formless meditations, one grasps the bliss of the desire realm, form realm, and formless realm. One will experience uncongenial happiness and suffering. It is said. Thus, even at the time of delusion, there is no true establishment of self-nature. As it is said in the King of Samādhis Sutra: "The beings of existence are like a dream, the names and lives of beings are also imperceptible, there is no birth or death here, and actions done and accumulated will never change." Also, it says in this: "In the two aspects of true illusion, there is no self, what belongs to self, or other, the pure realm is the only aspect." Second, the ways in which worldly vehicles appear are divided into two: First, the way in which the ordinary human and divine vehicles, with their unfailing cause and effect, appear is as follows: By practicing the ten virtuous actions and abandoning the ten non-virtuous actions on the coarse mind, one is born as a human or a god in the desire realm. Therefore, the ten virtuous actions are the vehicle of humans. As it is said in the Expanded Magical Net: "Practicing the ten virtuous actions and abandoning the non-virtuous actions,
