Its purity should be acknowledged and accepted. Fourth, refuting misconceptions about the Secret Mantra: Some adherents of the causal vehicle say that the Secret Mantra is not Dharma because the basis is the indivisibility of samsara and nirvana, being enlightened from the beginning; the path is practicing without abandoning the five poisons of afflictions; and the result is the belief in attaining Buddhahood in one lifetime. If they argue in this way, there is also evidence for this. The scriptural evidence is that in your own Sutra, the King of Instructions, it says: "After I disappear from here, in one hundred and twelve years, in the southeastern direction of Jambudvipa, from among humans will appear a fortunate vidyadhara, named King Jaḥ (ཛཿ, Devanagari: जः, Romanized Sanskrit: jaḥ, Literal meaning: Jaḥ), through the blessing of compassion, Vajrapani will make him appear." Furthermore, the Nirvana Sutra also says: "All the treatises on Secret Mantra, you should know that all of them are spoken by the Buddha." The personal evidence is that the Ratnakuta Sutra says: "Bodhisattva Vajrapani, following after the Blessed One, is the holder of the secret treasury." Moreover, in the land of Gaya in the south, in the mandala of the retinue of the eight classes of gods and demons, it is commonly acknowledged that the Blessed One Shakyamuni Buddha has bestowed empowerment. Bodhisattva Vajrapani compiled the Secret Mantra and spoke it to those who are fortunate. There is also evidence related to the scriptures, such as attaining Buddhahood in the basic mandala in the Secret Mantra, the Avatamsaka Sutra says: "Whoever I and all the Buddhas, abide in equality of nature, without dwelling and without taking, they will go to bliss. Form, feeling, perception, and consciousness, as well as mind, countless Tathagatas, they become great heroes." Furthermore, not abandoning afflictions on the path is also showing the Tathagata lineage and nature. The Vimalakirti Sutra says: "Afflictions are the seed of the Tathagata." Moreover, those are not practicing on the path at will, just as using poison by controlling it with a mantra, it is used after being controlled by skillful means. This is also explained in one's own treatise, the Mahayana-samgraha says: "Those who possess great skillful means

La. Afflictions transform into limbs of enlightenment, as it is said. In the Sutra of the Great Collection, Jewel Peak, it says: For the sake of pleasing the Tathagata, a Bodhisattva manifests and transforms his own body into the form of a woman, and constantly abides before the Tathagata. So it is said. The fruit is also attained within one lifetime, seven lifetimes, or even sixteen lifetimes. Through diligence and supreme means, the Mahamudra Vidyadhara can be accomplished in this life. As one wishes to quickly attain it through this basis, as the Intermediate Mother Tantra says: O son of noble family, great Bodhisattva, if one completely purifies what is to be abandoned by seeing, and with the great deeds of the Buddha, completely matures immeasurable, countless, and unmeasurable beings, then if he desires, he can attain unsurpassed enlightenment even within seven days, and if he desires, he can abide in great discipline for countless eons. Such is the reasoning. However, if one has not purified the Buddha-field, has not matured sentient beings, and has not accumulated roots of virtue for three countless eons, then it is not appropriate to become a Buddha. If one becomes a Buddha, one will become like an Arhat of a Shravaka or Pratyekabuddha. The answer is twofold. The similar reasoning is: You also desire to become a Buddha in countless eons, but that Buddha will also become like a Shravaka or Pratyekabuddha Arhat, because those three special qualities have not been perfected. If it is not established, then the virtue of future Buddhas such as Maitreya should become causeless, because the Able One has already done it. He says: He has already done the three, such as his own aspiration and the corresponding perfection and maturation, so there is no fault. The answer is: It is the same here, because he has placed the disciples who correspond to his own capacity on the path of liberation, and has purified the realm by transforming all phenomena into the nature of the three mandalas, and has perfected the two accumulations of the generation stage, the completion stage, and the union of skillful means and wisdom. The second, the actual answer, is: Even if one becomes a Buddha in one lifetime, etc., one is not the same as a Shravaka or Pratyekabuddha, because one is sustained by skillful means and great compassion, so one possesses the Mahayana mind of enlightenment, and because one is skilled in the wisdom of all phenomena being without inherent existence, one has purified the path.
