It symbolizes the union of skillful means and wisdom. The garland of flowers symbolizes the purification of karma and habitual tendencies, and the attainment of the collection of limbs of enlightenment. All three of these are the empowerment of the crown ornament, becoming the representative of the Buddha. The armor symbolizes invincibility to the weapons of afflictions and the subduing of the illusions of demons. The victory banner symbolizes the purification of the causes of samsara, including all arising aspects, and complete victory over unfavorable conditions. The hand seals of the five families, such as the vajra, symbolize the purification of the five afflictions in their respective places and the comprehension of the five wisdoms in the mind. The parasol symbolizes protecting from the suffering of afflictions and saving beings with compassion. These four are the empowerment of perfect benefit for others. The vase symbolizes washing away the stains of afflictions and establishing the power of the five families, representing the stream of uncontaminated water. Eating and drinking symbolize being free from the decline of samsara and nirvana and flourishing with the taste of meditative absorption. These two are the empowerment of perfect benefit for oneself. The essence of the sun, moon, water, earth, and flesh, which is the empowerment of the five essences, symbolizes the purification and inseparability of the five aggregates as the five fathers, the five elements as the five mothers, and the five afflictions as the five wisdoms. This is the empowerment that reveals the non-duality of samsara and nirvana. Third, the benefit of receiving empowerment is that from the time you fully receive these empowerments of ability and benefit, son of lineage, you have become the son of all Buddhas, Samantabhadra. The Secret Tantra says: As soon as the secret empowerment is obtained, one becomes the son of the meaning of Samantabhadra. So it is said. Moreover, the outer Paramita also states that as soon as one obtains the generation of bodhicitta, one is called a son of the Buddha. The Bodhicharyavatara says: Having generated the mind of enlightenment, in that instant, those helpless ones bound in the prison of samsara, will be called the sons of the Sugatas, and will be revered by the world with its gods and humans. It is in accordance with this. After receiving empowerment, the connection of karma and habitual tendencies that cause one to fall into the lower realms in future lives is thinned and exhausted, so the three lower realms and their suffering

May all suffering be completely eradicated. Because of the coincidence of the cause of life empowerment, may there also be longevity here, and may all be endowed with wealth, possessions, power, and the supreme and perfect bliss, without suffering. In the future, may one also be born temporarily in the higher realms of gods and humans, always practicing virtuous Dharma, and ultimately attain the master of liberation, accomplishing the two benefits perfectly with the Dharmakaya and Rupakaya. Thus it is said. As it is also said in the Tantra of Union and Bindu: "Having obtained empowerment, bliss is perfect. Here, all goodness is accomplished. All bad destinies are eliminated. In the future, the two benefits will be spontaneously accomplished." Thus it is said. The most secret essence of the wisdom of the mind, the profound perfection, is the definitive explanation of the tenth chapter of bestowing the wisdom of empowerment as the successor of the Buddha. The second general topic is divided into two: the stage of generating the path and the stage of completion. The stage of generating the path is to reverse ordinary appearances, and the stage of completion is to enter the meaning of the essence. The first is divided into two: the stage of generating the means, explaining the mandala of the assembly, and explaining its branches in detail. The first is divided into three: the connection of meaning, the explanation of the meaning of words, and the summary of the meaning of the occasion. The first is: After empowerment in the basic mandala, in order to generate the path, the Tathagata, who delights in playing with means, the great bliss Samantabhadra, transforms the phenomena that appear as means into the path. The five desires and other phenomena of samsara, which appear as means, appear as aspects of afflictions, and abide in the nature of wisdom and emptiness, which is the nature of the net. The great union of Dharma nature, which is originally free from acceptance and rejection, is called the reality or king of all Dharmas because it is originally enlightened. In order to know this, how can one freely transform into great wisdom from the moment of appearance without abandoning the five desires and afflictions? This is called concentration.
