The paṇḍitas residing in the temple explain all the Buddha's words with five perfections, and explain all the treatises with five arithmetic beginnings and branches. The five perfections are: perfect place, perfect teacher, perfect Dharma, perfect retinue, and perfect time. These are also shown as two types: the enjoyment of the perfect pure land and the manifested and unmanifested places of incarnation. The unmanifested pure land where the enjoyment body resides, the perfect place is the Akaniṣṭha Ghanavyūha pure land, the perfect teacher is glorious Vairocana, the perfect Dharma is only the Mahāyāna, the perfect retinue is the bodhisattvas who abide on the ground, and the perfect time is the constant and continuous period. The manifested is in the order of the three turnings of the wheel of Dharma, the first turning of the wheel, the perfect place is Vārāṇasī Ṛṣipatana Mṛgadāva Abhayadāna Forest, the perfect teacher is Śākyamuni Buddha, the perfect Dharma is the Four Noble Truths, the perfect retinue is the five excellent groups and eighty thousand gods, and the perfect time is the time of seven weeks after becoming Buddha. The middle turning of the wheel, the perfect place is Rājagṛha Gṛdhrakūṭa Mountain, the perfect teacher is Śākyamuni Buddha, the perfect Dharma is the extensive, intermediate, and concise three sections belonging to the six sections, the perfect retinue has two types, the common retinue is Śāriputra, Maudgalyāyana, Mahākāśyapa, etc., about five thousand bhikṣus and Mahāpajāpatī Gautamī, etc., about five hundred bhikṣuṇīs, and the householder Anāthapiṇḍada and the laywoman Sāgamatī, etc., the many retinues of upāsakas and upāsikās. The uncommon retinue is Bhadrapāla Bodhisattva, Ratnakara Bodhisattva, leader saint, etc., hundreds of thousands of koṭis of beings. The perfect time is the time spoken in twelve years less two months. The final turning of the wheel, the perfect place is the realm of gods, the realm of nāgas, Rājagṛha, and Padmavatī city, etc., the perfect teacher is Śākyamuni Buddha, the perfect Dharma is the definitive categories.

Such as the teachings on the essence of the Sugata (Tathāgatagarbha), etc. The retinue is complete, with many common and uncommon retinues. The time is complete, having been spoken for thirty-two years. The five key points of calculation are: who is the author, from which scripture is it extracted, to which aspect does it belong, for whose benefit is it made, and the meaning from beginning to end, and the time. If it is in accordance with this treatise, the author is the all-knowing Lord of Speech, rich in the wealth of having heard much of the scriptures of the Sugata. The scripture is extracted from all the vehicles of reason and the resultant Secret Mantra vehicle. It belongs to the Great Perfection of self-nature, and is a part of the Great Perfection, a method for entering the eight levels of Atiyoga. The purpose is to enable all individuals, gradual or simultaneous, in the present and future, to attain a common liberation. The meaning from beginning to end is to include the three bases, paths, and fruits, and the three views, meditations, and actions, a total of six, into the path, and to explain them in three stages: the method of entering the path, the actual path, and the final completion of the fruition. In the manner of the Pandit residing in the Vikramashila monastery, the teachings are explained through two methods: making the listeners suitable vessels and ascertaining the tenets of the teachings. The reason is that by first establishing the listeners as special vessels, and then explaining the origin of Buddhism, i.e., the order of sutras and treatises, it becomes very relevant. The Dharma that makes the listeners suitable vessels includes: the greatness of the author, the teacher; the greatness of the Dharma he created; and the manner of teaching and listening to the Dharma that possesses such greatness, these three. The reason is that by speaking of the greatness of the teacher and the Dharma, the listeners and followers generate faith and devotion to the lama and the Dharma. Through this, blessings enter and become the cause for entering the path of liberation and the Dharma. As it says in the Extensive Play Sutra: "Faith in it is the door to the appearance of Dharma, making the mind workable." And the venerable teacher Nagarjuna also said: "Thus, in all these Dharmas, the root is respect." In accordance with this treatise, the teacher is respectful of the teachings of the Sugata.
