When wisdom also dawns as emptiness without clinging, the duality of grasper and grasped ceases, and the realm and mind are without connection. Thus, abiding in the effortless state of the Great Perfection, when all inner thoughts dawn as without clinging, it is called the spontaneously accomplished Great Perfection of Self-Nature. As the Great Garuda says: 'Unfabricated, self-pure, without duality, is the Great Perfection itself; what need is there for fabrication?' Thus it is. The yogi who realizes purity, equality, and non-difference, all actions are the play of the Dharmakaya, and also cuts off the division of grounds and paths. Whatever arises is the nature of appearing as a friend, spontaneously accomplished in impartial great bliss. Knowing this and proceeding, there is no ground to traverse, and enlightenment is manifestly attained in the primordial ground. All grounds and paths are one taste in awareness, and when awareness is realized as self-liberated and without partiality, all actions are accomplished as the conduct of the Great Perfection. Therefore, all phenomena of existence and non-existence dawn as the play of a single mandala. As the Dohas say: 'Grounds, paths, and Buddhas are all of one taste; that primordial wisdom, constantly question mind with mind.' And as the Guhyagarbha Tantra says: 'The yogi who realizes the Great Perfection engages in the great mandala of all arising.' And as the Kunjed Gyalpo Tantra says: 'Emaho! The center is the unerring essence of meaning; the circle is the perfection of samsara and nirvana, great bliss. The root base is the realm of non-dual Bodhicitta; know the mandala of the All-Creating King.' Thus it is said. Explaining the stages of meditating on the path: Having realized this, abiding in that state is like the meditation of an unmoving water moon. Whatever appears is unreal and fleeting; fortunate beings should diligently practice. Thus, knowing that all objects that can appear are the nature of a water moon, appearing without existence, the mind is without the distinction of one or many, and remains equally in a state of non-conceptualization. As the Noble Samadhiraja Sutra says: 'Just as the moon in the water at night appears in a clear lake, yet the water moon is empty and without essence, know that all phenomena are likewise.' Thus it is. The method of how to meditate: The preliminaries are as before, praying to the water moon. The main practice is to contemplate whatever appears as being the same as the water moon, and remain in that state. Practicing Guru Yoga as before, all phenomena

Pray with intense devotion that appearances may be perfected like a reflection of the moon in water, devoid of inherent existence. Thinking that all appearances are like a reflection of the moon in water, remain in equanimity without thinking of anything else. Only the emptiness of insubstantial appearances arises, and afterwards, even that disappears, and the experience of being free from all mental activity dawns. As it says in the Ornament of the Sutras: "Depending on an object, non-objectivity is greatly developed. By realizing that there is nothing whatsoever, afterwards, even that is completely abandoned." That is to say, when focusing single-pointedly on an object of focus such as a reflection of the moon in water, if the mind wanders to other thoughts, mindfulness should immediately seize it and accomplish the meditation on the reflection of the moon itself. As it says in the same text: "On any object of focus, place the mind in samadhi. Having quickly realized distraction, apply it again to that." At that time, one obtains a samadhi in which the mind abides within, body and mind are at ease, one is free from afflictions due to being workable, and while not scattering to objects, the appearance of objects is not interrupted, and one possesses the wisdom that thoroughly distinguishes meanings. As it says in the same text: "Wherever the mind abides, and causes happiness to arise, abiding there is workability itself. It does not scatter, yet it also distinguishes." Non-scattering and thoroughly distinguishing meanings are not contradictory, because conceptual thought is the mind scattering for the sake of objects, while non-conceptual wisdom is the self-illuminating samadhi that knows the meaning inwardly in an instant and focuses on it. There is a difference between looking outward and looking inward, and between samadhi not being seized by non-conceptuality and being seized. This point is extremely important. Then, at night, as before, especially practice the experience of the reflection of the moon in water, abiding in a state of complete equanimity without grasping at anything. Meditate on the central channel being filled with the appearance of five-colored rays and go to sleep, and having grasped dreams as reflections of the moon in water, one will be able to perform transformations and so on as before, and the experience of seeing all appearances as transparent will dawn. The result is: quickly seize the eternal sovereignty of the mind itself, the king. Whatever appears, by looking at it, grasping at that appearance is liberated. Clear and bright luminosity like a reflection of the moon in water dawns. This should be diligently meditated upon by those who possess excellent fortune. In the meantime, because grasping at appearances is eliminated, affirmation and negation are liberated in their own place, the appearance of objects appears like a reflection of the moon in water, and the corresponding
