The Commentary on Great Perfection Illusion Resting, Called the Excellent Chariot. In Sanskrit: Mahāsandhimāyāviśrāntasya vṛttirathaphalanāma. In Tibetan: Commentary on Great Perfection Illusion Resting, Called the Excellent Chariot. Homage to glorious Vajrasattva! From the beginning, the pure Dharmakāya of enlightenment, arising as emanations of magical bodies, the protector of the three realms, Dharma Lord Lama, and all victorious ones with their sons, I worship with respectful head. From the distinctions of beings to be tamed and the means of taming, the varieties of vehicles are immeasurable, but the essence of all is the clear light illusion itself. This commentary, the Excellent Chariot, will illuminate it. When, with the rays of amazing compassion, lamps are arranged in the limitless worlds, dispelling all darkness of ignorance, and in this realm, the supreme among the immeasurable collections of teachings spoken by thousands of Sugatas, inner and outer teachers, is the proclamation of the ocean of the unsurpassable Great Vehicle. If one definitely applies the practice by gathering the profound essence into one, then the two aspects of illusion are taught in yoga with a definite order of eight examples. The definite key points of its instructions are established as the category of Dharma of the Great Perfection of Naturalness, called Illusion Resting. Here too, from the definite key points of the explanation of its divisions by meaning, first, briefly expressing worship with homage: From the very nature of all dharmas, unborn and equal, the great play of non-dual wisdom illusion, the king of mind itself, self-arisen and primordial, unborn, without gathering or separation, I pay homage. Thus it is said. This verse is the vajra body of this treatise. Individually, one's own awareness, the realm of the mind of enlightenment, the essence of the Sugata, is the sacred source or origin of all dharmas of samsara and nirvana. As it is said in the Noble Lankavatara Sutra: The realm of beginningless time is the abode of all dharmas. Because this exists, all beings and nirvana are attained. Thus it is said. Its nature is unborn by nature.

And, equality, no things, and because of transcending permanence and annihilation. Non-dual wisdom is beyond speech, thought, and expression, and the self-cognizant wisdom of each individual is the ultimate truth. In the "Praise to the Mother of Sound," it is also said: Speech, thought, and expression are all absent, Prajnaparamita, unborn and unceasing, the very nature of space, the realm of self-cognizant wisdom, I prostrate to the mother of the Buddhas of the three times. Thus it is said. This itself is not established as the nature of anything, but abides as the basis of samsara and nirvana. In the "Doha Treasury," it is said: Mind itself is the seed of all, wherever it arises, there is also a residue of cessation, granting the desired fruit, I prostrate to the mind like a wish-fulfilling jewel. Thus it is said. Thus, after the prostration, vowing to compose the treatise: The Buddhas have truly spoken of all dharmas in two ways of illusion, in order to realize their own nature, gathering the essence of the sutras, tantras, and instructions, I will explain as I have experienced, please listen. That is to say, all the dharmas of apparent existence, samsara and nirvana, are said to be apparent but without inherent existence, like an illusion. In the "Intermediate Mother Sutra," it is said: Subhuti, all dharmas are like a dream, like an illusion, nirvana is also like a dream, like an illusion, if there is a dharma that is superior to nirvana, it is also like a dream, like an illusion. And, in the "Sutra Requested by the Magician Excellent Subhuti," it is also said: Excellent Subhuti, all dharmas, should all be known as like an illusion. Thus it is said. Among them, all the dharmas of samsara appear to the mind, and because the power of the mind's habitual tendencies increases, they are called illusory illusions of inverted thought. All the dharmas of nirvana appear to wisdom, and because of the self-radiance of awareness, the appearance of body and wisdom, spontaneously accomplished, and transcending the dharmas of things and characteristics, they are called true illusions. Thus, in the "Great Net of Magical Illusion Tantra," it is said: In the two ways of true illusion, there is no self and no other of what belongs to self, it is the very nature of the pure realm of reality. Thus. With these, the cause of initially entering the treatise has been explained. Now, explaining the very body of the treatise to be entered, among the eight places of vajra, first, all dharmas appear like a dream.
