The secret of the perfect Buddhas: All arises from the unborn, The moment it arises, it is unborn. Emaho, wondrous and amazing Dharma! The secret of all the perfect Buddhas: All abides in the non-abiding, The moment it abides, it is non-abiding. Emaho, wondrous and amazing Dharma! The secret of all the perfect Buddhas: There is no going and coming, yet there is going and coming, The moment of going and coming is without going and coming. Thus it is said. Suchness of such a nature, is also taught as the Dharma of purifying actions: All joy and sorrow, happiness and suffering, good and bad, Are like mirages, empty and without self. All phenomena of outer and inner existence are like mirages, Appearing as non-existent, their nature is primordially pure. Understand that it is primordially empty, without beginning or end. Since all outer and inner phenomena are without inherent existence, all such as affirmation and negation, enemies and friends, etc., are taken as the path through self-liberation like mirages. Understand that the self-radiance of primordial emptiness merely dawns. Therefore, grasping at duality is like a mirage, Do not be bound by meaningless affirmation and negation. Look at your own mind, non-dual, like a mirage. This is the intention of the Buddhas of the three times. Grasping at self and other, affirmation and negation, is unreasonable, Because all phenomena appear like mirages, and their inherent existence is not established. From the Ornament Sutra of the Manifestation of Primordial Wisdom: "Manjushri, a mirage appears but has no inherent existence. Likewise, all phenomena appear but have no inherent existence." Practicing the Path: Then, the order of how to meditate: The preliminaries are as before, make the supplication of mirages. Guru Yoga is as before, but especially pray that all phenomena may be mastered as mirages. Then, the main practice is to rest in the state where all phenomena are like mirages, without hope or fear regarding the arising and dissolving of the mind. At night, if you examine as before, it will appear as a mirage. The appearances of daytime are mirages, and thinking that there is nothing whatsoever of inherent existence, release the mind into a state without scattering outwards or gathering inwards, without focusing the mind. In this state, recognize the self-radiance of awareness and cultivate it again and again. At night, lying down as before, fall asleep in the state of clearly establishing the central channel as one, then the mirage

When dreamlike illusions arise, the ability to manifest transformations emerges, and while sights and sounds nearby continue without interruption, one does not awaken from sleep. Countless appearances such as smoke, mirages, and sparks also arise. The result: Attachment to anything ceases, and self-grasping is naturally liberated. Clouds of dharani, direct perception, and samadhi arise from within. Because the attainment of Buddhahood is swiftly accomplished, contemplate the meaning of the nature of things as being like a mirage. Temporarily, by realizing all phenomena to be like mirages, one is liberated from attachment and aversion, and dharani, samadhi, the eye, and direct perception arise. To ensure that one does not forget the teachings of words and meanings, dharani is taught. In the Tantra of Susiddhikara, it is said: "Dharani is that which holds the three; words, meanings, and both; from good and from bad; because it holds, it is called dharani." Samadhi is the clear and single-pointed state of awareness, and the single-pointed state of equanimity in whatever object. In the King of Samadhi Sutra, it is said: "Whosoever fixes their mind on this object—the body of the World Protector, beautiful in every way, like the color of gold—that Bodhisattva is said to be in equanimity." This is an example. The eye is the unobstructed seeing of the other shore, beyond what is obscured. Direct perception is the knowing of past lives, and the direct knowing of what things are. May I obtain the nectar by having a share with the Sugata, the lord of beings, the source of all happiness, born from the great ocean of liberation and qualities, the noble one of immeasurable realms. On the precious ground of the pure realm, in immeasurable, pleasing, and delightful mansions, may I see the excellent abode of Amitabha, with a pure and untroubled mind, through the sound of the Dharma drum. In the various appearances, the essence of all things is pure by nature. May all enter into this unborn emptiness, and may the illusions of samsara vanish at once, and may I attain the stainless, peaceful nirvana. From the Great Perfection, Illusion's Respite, the chapter on mirages, which is the commentary on the fourth Vajra Place. Thus, after teaching that all phenomena have no coming or going, in order to particularly reveal the nature of appearance, it is said that they appear like the moon in water, but have no inherent existence. Furthermore, here the Victorious One
