The earth is also an illusion, deceiving with untruth is also an illusion, appearing as non-existent is also an illusion. One should understand this, as the self-sounding resonance of emptiness as illusion. As it says in the Bodhisattvacharyavatara: 'In this thing that is empty from the beginning, what is there to be pleased with, what to be displeased with? What is there to gain, what to lose? How can beings like me grasp at things that are all like the sky?' Like that. Then, during the night, when going to sleep, it is the same as before, but with the distinction of being in a state of illusion. Relax and loosen the absence of truth and elaboration. Then, whatever deluded dreams may arise, by knowing them as illusions, one is freed from clinging to truth, fear, and dread. Practice, increase, transform, and purify the field of illusion, and the way of proceeding like an illusion is the same as before. In the sleeping posture of a lion, release all phenomena into emptiness, free from elaboration, in the state of illusion. The upper end of the central channel reaches the Brahma aperture, and the lower end reaches the secret place. Inside something white and thin, like a blown-up tube, focus on a burning flame for a moment, and then lie down in a state where the light becomes thinner and thinner until it is invisible. First, dreams are grasped as illusions, and practiced in non-reality. Increasing, transforming, and viewing the realms, etc., should be done as before. If you think, 'What is the use of practicing and increasing illusions in the confusion of dreams, with triple confusion?' By practicing confusion with confusion, there are also immeasurable benefits. If you grasp a dream for one night, yoga will be comfortable for half a month. Gods, nagas, and gandharvas offer worship and praise. Heroes and dakinis actually gather. It is a boat that liberates from the ocean of evil destinies. ' Like that. The result of practicing the path is: By this, the clinging to samsara is naturally liberated, liberated in illusion, and does not abide in nirvana. Like an illusion, the two benefits are spontaneously accomplished. Therefore, practice the meaning of illusion. The temporary result of that is that by practicing the three illusory deity forms that do not abide extremely during the day and night, one obtains the qualities of the ground of the path of learning, and ultimately, in the bardo, one obtains the enjoyment body and attains nirvana. That is, from the latter part of the Guhyasamaja Tantra: 'Whatever the realms of the ten directions may be, practice with the arrangement of the dream body. First are the qualities of the earth, which arise from that, not from elsewhere. The impure imprints of delusion in the daytime and in dreams do not remain even on the eighth ground, what need is there to mention the lotus-holder?'

Thus, and, in the establishment of vows, it is said: During the day, appearances are empty like illusions, at night, dreams are the bodies of deities, if one does not move from that self-arising, that is the Victorious One, the perfect enjoyment, in an instant, nirvana in the bardo, if one abides constantly, what need is there to say, illusions and luminosity are like that, this is not to be spoken elsewhere. And, in the eighth chapter of the Tantra of the Manifestation of Wisdom, it is said: Illusion is the all-ground of the Dharmadhatu, on phenomena that are like illusions, if one meditates as if they are illusions, one will manifestly awaken as if it is an illusion, the five paths are twelve, this is not understood by others, the meaning of others, self-nature, and result, is profound and vast, inseparable. Thus it is said. When the essence of all phenomena is profound, the nature is vast, the play of illusion, in the non-duality of the Vajra, having realized well, may all beings attain the illusion of enlightenment. In the state of pure space, the mind of enlightenment, the manifestation of the illusion of luminosity, the sun and moon, the mixed samadhi, with the light of wisdom and compassion, may it dispel the darkness of ignorance of beings. The full autumn moon mandala, like appearing in water, free from turbidity, the palace of the pure nature of reality, the Vajra essence, may it perfect all the great qualities without exception. From the Great Perfection, the Rest of Illusion, the chapter on illusion-like, is the commentary on the second Vajra place. Thus, after showing the unceasing nature of illusion, one should realize that all phenomena are of the nature of non-arising, like mirages, as advised: Again, here the Victorious One, like a mirage, what is said, listen well to the explanation. When all phenomena appear but have no self-nature, that is, non-arising, like a mirage, in the Intermediate Mother Sutra it is said: Subhuti, all phenomena are by nature non-arising, like a mirage, the meaning of which is condensed into pith instructions: In the nature of the ground, path, and result, it is determined as three, among which the first, the ground, is determined by the view of non-arising, like a mirage: Just as a mirage appears from form, from the nature of mind, by the power of habitual confusion, the mirage of samsara is established as a non-existent appearance, however it appears, like a mirage, just as a shadow arises from the basis of coarse form.
