From the beginning, it is good. Understand that it is originally empty and without beginning or end. Holding onto duality as real is like a mirage. Without being bound by meaningless acceptance and rejection, look at your own mind, which is non-dual like a mirage. This is the intention of the Buddhas of the three times. Then, the order of how to meditate is as follows: The preliminary practice is the same as before, pray to the mirage. The main practice is to remain in the state where all phenomena are like a mirage, without hope or fear regarding the arising and dissolving of the mind. At night, the signs will appear as a mirage as before. Without clinging to anything, self-grasping will naturally dissolve. Dharani clouds, direct perception, and samadhi will arise from within. Because the state of Buddhahood is quickly attained, meditate on the meaning of self-nature being like a mirage. From the Great Perfection, Illusion's Repose, the fourth chapter, the chapter on the mirage. Furthermore, here the Victorious Ones have spoken of it as being like a moon in water. In order to practice what has been said, it is explained. In the center of the mind-essence, the deep and clear ocean, spontaneously present images abide as primordial wisdom, but the impurity of the waves of grasping and being grasped prevents it from becoming clear, agitated by the winds of thought. Because worldly ignorance arises from self-grasping, primordial wisdom is unclear, ignorant, and afflicted. Without beginning or end, it is submerged in samsara. Just as the images of stars and planets in clear water are clear, unmoving, and appear as if non-existent, the images of deluded appearances arise in the water of the mind. Appearing as if non-existent, all beings are truly pitiful. What is this? It is not a real thing, there is nothing to grasp. It is not characterized, nor is it without characteristics. It is neither existent nor non-existent, transcending the extremes of truth and falsehood. It is said to be an image, and that is what it is. The six objects, such as form, are like the moon in water, because they appear without being existent, and because their essence is not established. Their appearance is not interrupted, because they appear in the face of delusion. The six, such as the eye, eye faculty, and eye consciousness, are like the moon in water, accumulating and dissipating in emptiness. Like a magical illusion, like a water tree, there is no real entity. Understand that all are empty of truth. The mind that is not stained by extremes, the mind that is without impurity, is like the moon in water, appearance and emptiness, free from elaboration. Deep, peaceful, non-conceptual, primordial wisdom is beyond expression. Understand that it is unmoving in its self-luminous state. Just as the moon does not exist when it appears in water, when various things appear, there is no establishing or refuting of various things. It is free from the intellect that imputes words to the three times. M

Let the awareness of suchness remain as it is. The perfect Bodhicitta, without coming or going, without inside or outside, beyond thought, does not grasp at boundaries. In the Dharma-nature without limits or partiality, do not seek with narrowness, width, height, or lowness. Do not think of one or many, do not dwell in the original state, whatever it is, it is everything, like the moon in water. Neither true nor false, the nature of samsara and nirvana is equal, let go of the mind in the state of suchness Dharma-nature. The appearance of samsara and nirvana is like the form of the empty moon in water. Primordially empty, descending empty, the nature is empty from the beginning. Because of delusion, existence and non-existence are falsely imputed by the mind, so do not cling to differences and sectarianism. As long as there is a mind of clinging to self-grasping, as long as there is samsara, there is no time for liberation. Non-grasping, naturally abiding, the original true mind. Pure from the beginning, naturally abiding, self-liberation is the right path. The nature itself is that, what need is there to modify it? Objects are empty in essence like the moon in water, when the mind is also empty and non-grasping appears, when the grasper and the grasped are non-dual, and the object and mind are unrelated, in the state of effortless Great Perfection as it is. Whatever arises is the nature of appearing as a friend, without partiality, great bliss is spontaneously accomplished. Knowing this, without a place to go, enlightenment is manifested on the original basis. Having realized this, abiding in that state, this is the meditation of the unwavering moon in water. Whatever appears, is unreal, flickering, those with good fortune should practice diligently. The preliminary practice is the same as before, pray to the moon in water, the main practice is to contemplate whatever appears as the same as the moon in water and abide in equanimity. The concluding practice is the same as before, especially the experience of the moon in water, without clinging to anything, abide in a state of complete clarity. Quickly seize the kingdom of the nature of mind. Whatever appears, appears when looked at, without grasping. Clear and bright, the light appears like the moon in water. This should be diligently practiced by those who possess excellent fortune. From the Great Perfection Illusion Resting, the fifth chapter, like the moon in water. Also, this (teaching) was said by the Victorious Ones to be like a rock echo, now I will explain it clearly for you, listen carefully. Just as at the foot of a rocky mountain, people make various sounds, and then the echo of the rock wall is produced. Similarly, all dharmas arise from conditions and have no essence. Be sure to realize that they are empty. When the echo sounds, the source of the echo cannot be found inside, outside, or in between.
